# Comme des Garçons

Comme des Garçons, the Japanese fashion house of Rei Kawakubo, opened its perfume line in 1993 and put out its first scent a year later. The approach is closer to art than to glamour: woods, incense and spice, cut with odd, bright details such as aldehydes and caraway. Comme des Garçons 2, from 1999, is an early, conceptual piece that wears dark, aromatic and resinous. Wonderwood is a study in wood, stacking cedar, vetiver and oud into something warm yet airy. Amazingreen is sharp and green, while Blackpepper makes its title note the whole point. Most of the range is unisex.
