# Perfume decant cost per ml in Europe, 2026: what shops charge at 1 to 3ml, 5ml and 10ml

What shops across Europe charge per ml for small, medium and larger perfume decants, how much more a decant costs than the full bottle, and where 10ML sits, from prices read on one day in 2026.

A perfume decant costs more per ml than the full bottle it is filled from, and the smaller the decant, the wider the gap. This research reads what shops across Europe charge, each price taken from the shop's own page on 22 October 2026.

Every price figure is a median of the listed prices, with the shops and prices behind it printed beside it. The perfumes differ from shop to shop, so none of these medians is a market price. Euro prices are compared with euro prices only.

Six of the perfumes read in the same-perfume check, each available as a 3ml, 10ml or 30ml decant.

## What a perfume decant costs per ml in Europe

On 22 October 2026, shops across Europe listed 10ml decants at a median €4.40/ml, 5ml decants at €5.00/ml and decants of 1 to 3ml at €5.99/ml (euro prices with VAT included, shipping excluded).

These medians come from 10ML's check of rival decant shops that sell in euros. The 1 to 3ml row rests on 24 shops and 165 listed prices, the 5ml row on 23 shops and 107 prices, and the 10ml decant row on 22 shops and 103 prices.

The middle half of the prices is wide. The last column of the table shows the range for each size band, so one shop's price says little about the median of the listed prices.

The perfumes differ from shop to shop, mostly niche and prestige designer perfumes, so the medians describe what was listed, not one common basket. A price list that a shop sells into several markets counts once.

## How the price per ml changes with the size of the decant

The bigger the decant, the lower the median price per ml: €5.99/ml for 1 to 3ml, €5.00/ml for 5ml and €4.40/ml for 10ml decants, the last from 22 shops.

The chart shows the same direction for the perfumes 10ML stocks, from the 10ML Price-per-ml Index. The index median for 3ml decants is €3.30/ml and for 10ml decants €2.88/ml, both 10ML member price with VAT included, taken across the perfumes 10ML stocks and read live from [the 10ML Price-per-ml Index](https://10ml.com/guides/perfume-price-per-ml-index).

One likely reason is that each vial carries the same filling and packing work whatever its size, so a small decant spreads that work over fewer ml.

## How much more per ml a decant costs than the full bottle

At the shops that list both, a decant costs more per ml than the same shop's full bottle of the same perfume: a median 1.59 times for 10ml decants, 1.75 times for 5ml decants and 2.09 times for decants of 1 to 3ml.

The premium is the decant's price per ml divided by the price per ml of the same shop's largest full bottle of the same perfume. Every ratio in the data is above one, and the median ratio falls as the decant gets bigger.

In round terms, the median 10ml decant costs less than twice the bottle per ml, and the median decant of 1 to 3ml more than twice.

The middle half of the ratios for 10ml decants runs from 1.42 to 1.81 times, a narrower band than the 1.8 to 2.45 times for decants of 1 to 3ml. The ratio is unitless, so it is pooled across currencies.

It rests on fewer shops than the medians in the first table: 7 shops for the 1 to 3ml row, 8 for the 5ml row and 8 for the 10ml decant row, with 15, 14 and 14 listed prices. The median 10ml decant runs from €2.89/ml in Ireland to €7.00/ml in Finland, with €5.64/ml in Germany and €4.00/ml in Italy; most countries rest on fewer than four shops, so read each as an example.

Only Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands rest on four or more shops. Finland's median rests on 2 shops and 10 listed prices, Germany's on 3 shops and 10 prices, and Greece's on 2 shops and 8 prices. Each is an example, not a market median.

Several shops serve more than one country from one price list, so the rows overlap and cannot be added up. That is why France and Luxembourg share the same median.

In most euro countries the range inside the country is wider than the gap between country medians. Ireland and Germany both span a wide range from lowest to highest per ml.

## Why prices outside the euro are not compared with euros

Prices in zloty, leu, koruna, forint, krone and krona stay in their own currency, so the median 10ml decant is 19.53 zloty per ml in Poland and 23.5 lei per ml in Romania; 10ML converted no price.

A converted price would mix the shop's price with an exchange rate on the day, and the rate would move the ranking. Each currency therefore keeps its own row, and no row is ranked against a euro country.

Only Poland, with six shops, and Romania, with four, rest on four or more shops. The Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary and Sweden rest on three shops or fewer, so they are examples, not market medians.

This check cannot give a euro ranking of the non-euro countries. Doing so would need one common basket of perfumes read in every country, and the perfume sets here differ by shop.

## A retailer's own 10ml bottle against a decant

A retailer's own 10ml bottle is the house's product, not a decant: it had a median €3.08/ml and cost a median 1.95 times the same retailer's largest bottle per ml.

These are a retailer's prices for the house's own 10ml bottles, so they never enter a decant median. The row for them in the premium table counts 2 retailers, 22 listed prices and 8 perfumes, with a middle half of 1.44 to 1.98 times.

Among the euro rows, the retailer's 10ml bottle is lowest per ml in Ireland and highest in France and Germany. The country medians of the ratio against the retailer's largest bottle range from 1.32 to 2.24 times.

The median per ml of these 10ml bottles is below the median 10ml decant at rival shops, but the two sets of perfumes differ, so it is not a like-for-like comparison.

## Where 10ML sits against these shops

Compared on the same perfumes on 22 October 2026, 10ML's 10ml decant (10ML member price, VAT included) was below the rival's price per ml on 59 of 92 like-for-like prices and above it on 33: inside the range of these shops, not at one end.

At the same size of 3ml, against rival 3ml decants of the same perfume, 10ML's 3ml was below the rival's price per ml on 30 of 45 prices and above it on 15.

The table lists only the perfumes that three or more shops sell as 10ml decants, so its rows do not add up to the 92 pairs. It shows how uneven the picture is: 10ML was lower on 4 of 5 prices for Amouage Guidance, 7 of 9 for Creed Aventus and 5 of 7 for Parfums de Marly Delina, and on 1 of 6 for Dior Sauvage Eau de Parfum, the perfume with the lowest rival median in the table.

The rival median differs by perfume as well. It is lowest for the Dior perfume and highest for the Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait, so a shop that is low on one perfume can be high on another.

10ML read 918 distinct listed prices from 47 shops in 19 markets on 22 October 2026, each on the shop's own page, in the shop's own currency with VAT included and shipping left out.

A median here is the median of the listed price per ml, with each distinct listing as one vote, over decants of the exact size band: 1 to 3ml, 5ml or 10ml. Only euro prices have a euro price per ml, which is why the other currencies stay apart.

The perfumes read differ by shop, mostly niche and prestige designer perfumes, so a median is the median of the listed prices and never the market price. A price list that a shop sells into several markets counts once.

The shops are named in the dataset below. The check is one day, 22 October 2026, so it shows no trend over time. It also cannot say what shipping adds to a small order, or what a perfume costs at a shop it was not read for.
