It charges a modest flat rate that falls away above a threshold for the Netherlands and Belgium, and it says it dispatches within three working days. It states that it sells only original perfumes.

Parfumsampletjes

Parfumsampletjes sells smaller 2ml and 5ml samples across its catalogue and does not offer a 10ml decant of either perfume in the table, so it suits a very small first test rather than a long wear. On the check date its 2ml of both perfumes was in stock and the 5ml was sold out. It dispatches within two working days, lists delivery rates for the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France, and has a free-delivery threshold.

Test Your Parfum

Test Your Parfum sells 2ml, 5ml and 10ml samples, filled and shipped from its own warehouses in the Netherlands. It lists Aventus in all three sizes, including a 10ml decant priced in the table. Baccarat Rouge 540 is in its catalogue in the same three sizes, but every size was marked sold out on the check date. Delivery is free above a modest threshold, and an order placed before its afternoon cut-off on a working day arrives the next day in the Netherlands.

People also buy decants from marketplaces and from sellers on social media, and perfume forums carry long threads of shops a buyer has tried. Those listings and forum shops were not checked for this comparison, so treat a listing there as unknown until you have checked it yourself.

How to test a decant

Skin is the only honest test, not paper: a perfume shifts with your skin, and paper carries only part of it. Wear a candidate on more than one day, and in different weather, before deciding. A 3ml decant tells you whether a perfume is worth more; take a 10ml decant of the one you reach for again and again, and wear it for a few weeks.
