What builds an amber accord

In perfume, amber is a blend, not one material. Perfumers build it from labdanum, benzoin, vanilla and other balsams and resins. The result smells warm, sweet and a little resinous, and the Amber note page shows which perfumes list it.

What changes from one amber perfume to the next is what sits beside the accord. Add spice and you get a spiced amber. Add incense and you get an incense amber. Add powder and you get a powdery classic. Add citrus and geranium and you get a fresh amber.
