Libre Le Parfum arrived in 2022, credited to Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaim. It starts warmer than the original, with bergamot, ginger, mandarin and saffron. Lavender and orange blossom sit in the heart, as before. The base is where it changes most: Bourbon vanilla, honey, tonka bean and vetiver, so the dry-down is richer and more golden.

Libre L'Absolu Platine by Yves Saint Laurent

Libre L'Absolu Platine came out in 2023 and goes the other way. Bergamot, mandarin and aldehydes open it with a crisp, almost soapy brightness. The heart doubles the lavender, with blue lavender beside it, and keeps the orange blossom. Amber and vanilla close it.

This is the cleanest and most aromatic of the three. Its longevity votes lean moderate, then long lasting. Most voters rate its sillage moderate. Voters pick it for winter, and for day, office and evening wear, so it suits someone who wants the Libre idea at a quieter volume.

Orange blossom with a clean, musky finish

These two keep the orange blossom but swap the lavender for brighter, fresher notes. They suit you if the flower was what drew you to Libre.

Valaya by Parfums de Marly

Valaya, from 2023, is a niche perfume that opens with aldehydes, white peach, bergamot and mandarin. Orange blossom leads the heart with lily-of-the-valley, vetiver and softer floral notes. It dries down to musk, ambroxan, akigalawood and vanilla.

Where Libre is warm and a little herbal, Valaya is airy, powdery and clean, like fresh laundry with a white flower tucked inside. Community votes on its longevity lean long lasting. Spring days are when voters reach for it most, and it is listed for work.

Pure Poison by Dior

Pure Poison dates from 2004. Jasmine, orange, bergamot and Sicilian mandarin open it, then gardenia and orange blossom fill the heart. White musk, sandalwood, cedar and white amber make the base.

It is the most purely floral of the group, with no sugary base at all, and a smooth woody finish. Try it if you want the orange blossom in Libre without the sugar. Its sillage votes lean moderate, then strong. Spring and autumn lead its season votes, mostly for evening and night.

Lavender and vanilla, softer

Mon Guerlain by Guerlain

Mon Guerlain launched in 2017 and shares the other half of Libre: lavender over vanilla. Lavender and bergamot open it. Iris, jasmine sambac and rose follow. The base is Tahitian vanilla with coumarin, Australian sandalwood, licorice, benzoin and patchouli.

It is rounder and more powdery than Libre, with iris and rose in the middle instead of a bright blossom. If you like the way lavender and vanilla meet in Libre's dry-down, this stretches that moment across the whole wear. Most community voters rate its sillage moderate. Voters pick it for autumn and winter, and for day, office and evening.

Orange blossom, sweeter and louder

The last four keep orange blossom and vanilla but push further into sweetness or into heady white flowers. They suit you if Libre felt too restrained.

La Vie Est Belle by Lancôme

La Vie Est Belle, from 2012, opens with black currant and pear. Iris, jasmine and orange blossom make the heart, over vanilla, praline, patchouli and tonka bean. Black currant and orange blossom are notes it shares with Libre, but the praline makes it far more gourmand.

Good Girl launched in 2016 and is the richest here. It starts on almond and coffee, lifted by lemon and bergamot. The heart gathers tuberose, orange blossom, jasmine sambac, orris and Bulgarian rose. The base is long, with cacao and praline beside vanilla and tonka bean, then cinnamon, patchouli, amber and musk over sandalwood, cashmere wood and cedar.

L'Interdit Eau de Parfum by Givenchy

L'Interdit Eau de Parfum is from 2018. Pear and bergamot open it, then tuberose, orange blossom and jasmine sambac. Ambroxan, vetiver, vanilla and patchouli give it a darker base than Libre.

The tuberose makes the flowers heavier and creamier. Its sillage votes lean strong, then moderate. Voters most often pick it for winter and autumn evenings out.

Dior Addict by Dior

Dior Addict is the oldest perfume here, from 2002. Blackberry, mandarin leaf and silk tree blossom open it. Jasmine, orange blossom, night blooming cereus and rose follow. Vanilla, tonka bean and Mysore sandalwood close it.

It is the most intense choice in this list. Community votes on its longevity lean eternal. Its sillage votes lean strong, then enormous, so one or two sprays go a long way. Cold months and late evenings are where voters place it.

How to choose from the notes alone

Most people shopping for a perfume like Libre cannot smell ten bottles side by side. The notes can do some of the work. Start with the one thing you liked most, and follow the group built around it.

If you liked how clean Libre felt, look at the fresh and musky group. If you liked the warm finish, look at the lavender and vanilla group, or at the richer Libre Le Parfum. If you wanted more of everything, the sweeter group is where to go.
