What does Symphony smell like?

Symphony by Louis Vuitton launched in 2021 and is classed as unisex. It opens with bergamot, grapefruit and orange. Ginger forms the heart, and musk sits underneath. Its accords are citrus, fresh and fruity.

That pyramid is short and mostly citrus, which gives a clone few notes to follow. Several of the perfumes below list the same grapefruit, bergamot and ginger. What sets them apart is what each adds around that frame.

The six at a glance

Six perfumes from other houses are put forward as Symphony dupes. Four rest on Parfumo member votes: Island Dreams, Psycho, Mazaaj Rhythm and Game of Spades Emerald. Island Dreams by Khadlaj leads our ranking because of the size of the vote behind it. Parfumo's comparison page shows 157 of 176 voting members judging it similar to Symphony, and its vote is the largest of any alternative here, with more members voting than for any other pick.

Both perfumes list bergamot, ginger and grapefruit. The main difference is the base: Island Dreams adds an Ambroxan and musk base, where Symphony lists musk alone. If you want that frame with an Ambroxan and musk base, this is the one to try first. Orange is not mentioned in the comparison for Island Dreams, so treat its absence as unknown rather than confirmed.

Psycho by Bujairami has the highest share of similar votes, though far fewer members voted than for Island Dreams. Parfumo's comparison page shows 44 of 49 voting members judging it similar to Symphony.

Its note table lists grapefruit, bergamot and ginger for both perfumes. The documented difference is orange, which the table lists only for Symphony. Mazaaj Rhythm by Zimaya has the lowest price of the six, and the dated figure sits in the table on this page. Parfumo's comparison page shows 39 of 53 voting members judging it similar to Symphony, on a modest sample.

Both list grapefruit, bergamot and ginger. Mazaaj Rhythm adds green apple and an amber and musk base. That makes it the pick for someone who wants the citrus frame with green apple and an amber and musk base added, and who puts the price first.

Beaulieu-sur-Mer by FIORE rests on the house's own words, not on a community vote. FIORE presents it as its Duftzwilling of Symphony and describes it as opening with a radiant citrus freshness.

That is all the published evidence says. We have no note list to compare against Symphony, so we cannot tell you what it shares or leaves out. Pick it if the freshness of the opening is what you love in Symphony, and read it as a house statement, not as a verified match.

Game of Spades Emerald by Jo Milano Paris is the floral option. Parfumo's comparison page shows 24 of 35 voting members judging it similar to Symphony, on a small sample.

Both list grapefruit, bergamot and ginger. Game of Spades Emerald adds orange blossom and neroli, then musk and ambrette. Those additions are why it sits in the softer slot. This pick is about the floral side, not a saving, so choose it only if you want Symphony's frame with flowers added.

Kiage 296 by Kiage is the other pick that rests on a house statement. Kiage writes that its 296 reminds it of Symphony, sells it as a Symphony Duftzwilling and lists grapefruit, bergamot and orange; ginger and spices; musk.

The notes line up with Symphony's, with spices listed beside the ginger. That is the one documented difference. It suits you if you want a published note list close to the original's and are happy to rely on the house's own description.

Clone or the original in 3ml?

What the sources do not tell you

The votes do not say how long a perfume lasts or how far it projects, and a house statement does not either. So we have kept to notes and documented differences. If a point matters to you, such as how the base settles on your skin, the only reliable check is your own wrist.

How to test a dupe

Spray on skin, not on paper. Symphony is built on a bright citrus opening, and that opening reads differently on a warm wrist than on a card.

Wear Symphony on one day and the clone on another, so each gets a fresh start. Judge late in the day, once the opening has settled. Ask which one you reach for again, not which one wins on the first spray.
