What does Flowerbomb smell like?

Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf is a floral built in three clear layers. The opening is light and a little green: bergamot, green tea and osmanthus. Then the bouquet that gives it its name, a dense heart of orchid, freesia, rose and jasmine. Underneath, patchouli and musk hold the flowers in place and give the dry-down its depth.

Most of the clones below keep the flowers and rework that base.

The Eau de Parfum, not a flanker

Flowerbomb has a long list of flankers: Extrême, Nectar, Midnight, Dew, Ruby Orchid, Tiger Lily and Pretty Peony among them. They share the name, and shoppers mix them up. This guide measures every clone against the original Eau de Parfum, which is also the only Flowerbomb 10ML sells. Each Parfumo comparison quoted below is made against that Eau de Parfum.

Gourmand White Flowers by Dossier is the only pick here that both names Flowerbomb as its inspiration and has a community vote behind it: on Parfumo's comparison page, all 13 members who voted find it similar to the Eau de Parfum, a small pool. The Dossier page lists bergamot, green tea, freesia and berries on top, white flowers, orchid and rose in the heart, and musk, patchouli, caramel and vanilla in the base. That keeps seven of the original's notes.

The main difference is in the edges. Berries and caramel are on its list and not on Flowerbomb's, while osmanthus and a named jasmine are missing. Not everyone is convinced: a member on Fragrantica who went back to Flowerbomb does not count it as a dupe, finding both powdery florals but Dossier's softer and sweeter.

Victoria Flower by Maison Alhambra covers more of the original's list than any clone here. Fragrantica gives tea, bergamot and osmanthus, then jasmine, freesia, African orange flower, orchid and rose, then patchouli, musk and vanilla. Every one of Flowerbomb's nine notes is there, with plain tea standing in for green tea.

The main difference is texture, and members on Fragrantica split on it. Members there who know the original find it quite similar, one of them a little sweeter. Another, who owns both, finds it less soft, less powdery and less pretty than Flowerbomb, and prefers the original. Its list also carries orange flower and vanilla.

It suits someone who wants the fullest note-for-note overlap in a large bottle and is willing to accept a less soft finish. Basis: a named source, member comments and the note list on Fragrantica.

Floral Seduction by Revolution has the lowest bottle price in the table. Its Fragrantica listing keeps the floral centre of the original, jasmine, rose and orchid, over vanilla and patchouli.

The main difference is strength. Members there find it very like Flowerbomb but weaker, and one reports very weak staying power. It also leaves the bergamot, green tea, osmanthus, freesia and musk off its short list, so it is a simpler outline of the original.

It suits someone who wants the general floral-patchouli idea for the smallest outlay and is happy to respray. Basis: a named source, the Fragrantica listing and its members' comments.

Most of the members who voted on Parfumo's comparison page find Pink Sugar Sparks by Aquolina similar to Flowerbomb, and a Fragrantica forum member finds it very similar and much less expensive. Its notes on Fragrantica share tea and bergamot, the orchid, jasmine, freesia and rose heart, and patchouli and musk.

The main difference is fruit and sugar. Raspberry and peach open it, and coffee and vanilla sit in the base; raspberry, peach and coffee are not on Flowerbomb's list. On paper that tips the same bouquet toward dessert.

It suits someone who likes the flowers of Flowerbomb but wishes the base were sweeter. We found no EU list price for it in stock on the check date. Basis: a named source, a forum comment and Parfumo's comparison page.

Mini Vanille by Ulric de Varens is a looser match. A Parfumo member's write-up describes it as a mix of Flowerbomb and Angel in which chocolate, dark fruit and patchouli take over. Only a minority of members voting on Parfumo's comparison page find it similar to Flowerbomb.

The main difference is the direction. The same comparison page lists apricot leaf, mango and mandarin, then vanilla orchid, white peony and yellow freesia, then patchouli, bourbon vanilla and tonka bean. Orchid, freesia and patchouli are shared; the rest pulls toward the darker, sweeter territory of Angel.

It suits someone who sits between those two perfumes and wants a heavier version of the floral idea. Opinion rests on a single write-up, and there is no in-stock EU price. Basis: a named source, one Parfumo member and Parfumo's comparison page.

Petal Explosion by ALT. Fragrances names Flowerbomb as its inspiration on the ALT. Fragrances product page, which sells it as a pure perfume rather than an Eau de Parfum. That concentration is why it takes the premium slot.

Going by the published lists, it keeps bergamot and green tea, Sambac jasmine, Centifolia rose and orchid, and patchouli and musk. It also lists vanilla, and it leaves osmanthus and freesia off. No third-party comparison of the two exists in our sources, so the lists are the whole of the evidence.

It suits someone who wants a pure-perfume concentration built on most of the original's listed notes. There is no EU list price in the table. Basis: published notes only; nobody in our sources has compared the two on skin.

Oriental by Zara has the most divided reception here. A Fragrantica forum member calls it an excellent Flowerbomb alternative.

The main difference is reach. Its Fragrantica listing shares freesia, bergamot, rose, jasmine, patchouli and musk, and also lists vanilla and caramel, but one member there finds it nothing like Flowerbomb and another finds it light, with a short reach.

It suits someone who wants a quiet, close-wearing take on the idea and does not mind a mixed record. No in-stock EU price turned up. Basis: a named source, a forum comment and split comments on Fragrantica.

Where the clones part ways with Flowerbomb

Almost every clone here keeps the flowers. Patchouli appears on all seven lists, rose and orchid on six, and jasmine on five. The changes come in the base: Gourmand White Flowers and Oriental add caramel, Pink Sugar Sparks adds coffee, and every one of the seven lists vanilla. That base is the first thing to check on your own skin.

The second gap is the light top. Osmanthus is the note that drops out most: only Victoria Flower lists it.

Clone bottle or a Flowerbomb decant?

On price per ml, the three clones with a price in the table all cost far less than the original. For Flowerbomb itself, the 30ml at € 89,10 works out to € 2,97/ml, the lowest per ml of its three sizes, and a 10ml decant of around 200 sprays costs € 35,28.

The decision is a different sum. Four of the seven clones show no EU list price at all, so the comparison is thinner than it looks. The 3ml, around 60 sprays, costs € 11,61. A week of it settles whether the bouquet is right for you before any bottle, clone or original, comes into it. Authentic perfumes that share the bouquet

Three originals on 10ML share part of the Flowerbomb structure. Signorina by Salvatore Ferragamo, from 2011, puts pink pepper and black currant over jasmine, rose and peony, with patchouli and musk below: a fruitier, pinker floral. Odéon Rosebud by Memo Paris, from 2026 and composed by Aliénor Massenet, opens on pink pepper, bergamot and apricot, keeps rose and freesia with peony, and settles on musk, patchouli and cashmeran. Angel by Mugler, from 1992, is the gourmand route: bergamot and jasmine up top, orchid and rose among honey and red berries, then patchouli, chocolate, caramel and vanilla. How to test a dupe

Spray a clone of Flowerbomb on skin rather than a strip, and look at three moments. First the bergamot and green tea, which tell you whether the top is light or sugary. Then the orchid and rose heart, which most clones keep. Last, the patchouli and musk once everything has settled, which is where the clones tend to drift.

Wear Flowerbomb on a Saturday and the clone on Sunday, and judge the base of each that evening. A 3ml gives you enough for that, and a 10ml decant is there if the original wins.
