What does Oud for Greatness smell like?

Oud for Greatness by Initio Parfums Prives opens with lavender, nutmeg and saffron. The heart is agarwood, the note sold as oud, and the base is musk and patchouli. Read top to bottom, the list is spiced first, oud in the middle and musk and patchouli underneath. If oud is new to you, our guide to oud explains the note before you spend on a bottle.

Best overall: Afnan Supremacy in Oud

Afnan Supremacy in Oud is compared here with Oud for Greatness. Both lists name saffron, nutmeg, lavender, oud, patchouli and musk. The main difference is that Afnan Supremacy in Oud also lists sweet notes, which Oud for Greatness does not.

Parfumo's comparison page shows 220 of 248 voting members finding the two similar, the largest vote in this guide. In a Fragrantica forum thread asking for an Oud for Greatness alternative, a member recommends it as a very good clone. Fragrantica lists it as launched in 2021, with the spices and lavender on top, then agarwood and the sweet notes, over patchouli and musk.

It suits you if you want that oud frame with sweetness added. The basis is two community sources: the Parfumo comparison and the Fragrantica forum thread.

Sweeter take: Paris Corner Ministry of Oud Greatest

Paris Corner Ministry of Oud Greatest is also compared with Oud for Greatness. Several Fragrantica members who know Oud for Greatness describe it as a lighter, airier and sweeter take, with less oud and a less sharp opening. One finds it more powdery.

One member finds its performance weak. It suits you if you like the idea of Oud for Greatness but want less oud and a gentler start. The basis is the Fragrantica page for Ministry of Oud Greatest.

Darker take: FIORE Madrid

FIORE Madrid is compared with Oud for Greatness. FIORE presents Madrid as its own composition and as a Duftzwilling (scent twin) of the original. It describes powerful oud, spicy saffron and hypnotic lavender, like a dark crown, and files it as oriental and intense.

The label "darker" rests on those words and nothing else. No community comparison was found, and FIORE does not say it is better than the original. It suits you if intense and spicy is what you want from Oud for Greatness. The basis is FIORE's own Madrid page.

What does Musk Therapy smell like?

Musk Therapy launched in 2021. It opens with white musk and plain musk, black currant, bergamot and mandarin orange. Magnolia and hedione form the heart, over white sandalwood. Its accords include citrus, musky, floral and powdery, among others. Initio lists it as an extrait de parfum. Closest on the dry-down: Maison Alhambra Infini Musk

Maison Alhambra Infini Musk is compared with Musk Therapy. One owner who compared the two finds the opening sour next to the original. The same owner finds them more similar as they dry down, when the sour edge goes. Another finds it sits much closer to the skin than Musk Therapy, and one finds it not close.

Parfumo's comparison page shows 80 of 97 voting members finding it similar to Musk Therapy Extrait. In a Fragrantica forum thread asking for a Musk Therapy dupe, a member names it as pretty close to the original. The label "closest on the dry-down" rests on that one owner's view.

It suits you if you care about the later hours of the day more than the first spray. The basis is the Fragrantica page, the Parfumo comparison and the forum thread.

Lowest price: FIORE Monteverde

FIORE Monteverde is compared with Musk Therapy, and its price is the lowest in this guide, level with FIORE Madrid. FIORE presents it as its own composition and as a Duftzwilling (scent twin) of the original. It describes a soft veil of white musk, creamy sandalwood and fresh bergamot, and files it as a fresh, aromatic day scent.

White musk, sandalwood and bergamot also appear in the Musk Therapy list. No community comparison was found, so the claim rests on FIORE's words alone. It suits you if a simple musk, sandalwood and bergamot reading of the original is enough. The basis is FIORE's own Monteverde page.

Softer take: Kiage 229

Kiage 229 is compared with Musk Therapy. Kiage writes that it immediately reminds it of Musk Therapy. It describes a clean, soft, calming skin scent, creamy and modern, and lists bergamot and mandarin, white musk, sandalwood and black currant.

Those are notes that Musk Therapy lists too. Kiage does not list magnolia or hedione. The label "softer" rests on Kiage's own description of a calming skin scent, and nothing else backs it. It suits you if you want a quiet, close musk. The basis is Kiage's own page.

What does Rehab smell like?

Rehab opens with lavender and bergamot. Cedar, vetiver and patchouli form the heart, over sandalwood, musk and guaiac wood. Its accords include woody, aromatic, lavender and powdery. Initio lists it as an extrait de parfum.

Premium alternative: The Dua Brand Action Nova

The Dua Brand Action Nova is compared with Rehab. The Dua Brand sells it as its interpretation of Rehab, classed woody aromatic. It lists lavender, bergamot, vetiver, cedarwood, patchouli, guaiac wood and musk.

Going by the lists, the one name Rehab has and Action Nova lacks is sandalwood. The label "premium" rests on the house's own statement that it is an extrait de parfum. No community comparison was found, and the label does not mean it is better than Rehab. It suits you if a woody, aromatic lavender reading of Rehab is what you are after. The basis is The Dua Brand's own page.

Wild Rush and Can't Get Enough: why no clone is listed

Wild Rush lists bergamot, ginger and pink pepper, then leather, oud and saffron, over amber, musk and sandalwood. Can't Get Enough launched in 2025. It lists bitter orange, aldehydes, bergamot, grapefruit and lemon, then ice and cognac, over cinnamon, tonka bean, amber and oak.

The inspired-by perfumes found for them each rest on one seller's statement and list notes that do not match the published pyramids. None met this guide's bar. The honest way to know either is a 3ml of the original.

What every Initio clone gets wrong

Take each clone for what its source says. The differences on record are these:

• Afnan Supremacy in Oud adds sweet notes that Oud for Greatness does not list.
• Paris Corner Ministry of Oud Greatest has less oud and a less sharp opening, according to several Fragrantica members.
• Maison Alhambra Infini Musk opens sour according to one owner and sits closer to the skin according to another, while one finds it not close.
• FIORE Madrid, FIORE Monteverde, Kiage 229 and The Dua Brand Action Nova rest on each house's own statement.

Every Initio clone here is another house's own perfume with its own list. The votes show how many members find a pair similar; they do not replace your own skin.

How to test an Initio clone against the original

Test on skin, not on paper. Wear the clone on one day and the original on another. Check each late in the day, once it has settled, because the Infini Musk owner's view is about the dry-down. A 3ml decant of Oud for Greatness, Musk Therapy or Rehab is enough to judge.
