Atkinsons

Atkinsons dates back to 1799, when James Atkinson left Cumberland for London and opened a perfumery there. Today it is a niche house with a playful British streak, most obvious in names like Oud Save The King and Posh on the Green. The scents mix crisp and smoky: bergamot, coriander, geranium and earl grey tea at the top, then oud, frankincense, vetiver and amber below. Begin with Mint & Tonic, then try Born for Eternity and Shine Despite Everything, two of the newest. The Other Side of Oud shows the darker end. Maurice Roucel and Fabrice Pellegrin are among the perfumers credited, and every scent here is unisex.
