Most of us own a full bottle we wore twice. Buying perfume usually means deciding in a few minutes at a counter, or blind from a description online. Neither tells you how a scent behaves on your skin at four in the afternoon, in the rain, or on day five.

So we made the small bottle the main event. Pick a perfume, wear it for as long as you like, and go bigger only once you’re sure. The name is a nod to our middle size: enough to live with a perfume for weeks, small enough to carry everywhere.

How a 10ML decant is made

We start with an original, full-size bottle of the perfume. It goes by hand into a clean travel atomiser, with nothing added and nothing diluted, and is labelled with the perfume and the size.

Because it is the same perfume, it opens, settles and lasts on your skin just as the full bottle would. The atomiser is built for travel, so it slips into a pocket, a gym bag or a clutch without a second thought.

Most perfumes come in three sizes: 3ml to discover, 10ml to wear and 30ml to keep.
