Givenchy

Givenchy is the French couture house Hubert de Givenchy opened in 1952, and its first perfumes followed in 1957, the L'Interdit name among them. The women's side loves white flowers, tuberose, jasmine and orange blossom, often darkened by patchouli or vetiver. The men's scents run woody and warm, with iris, black pepper and vanilla. Begin with Ange ou Demon, a spiced vanilla with real depth. L'Interdit Eau de Parfum is tuberose made sweet, and the Rouge version adds woods to the same flowers. For men, Gentleman Eau de Parfum Reserve Privée pairs iris with a boozy whiskey warmth.
