Maison Margiela

Maison Margiela is the Paris fashion house that Belgian designer Martin Margiela set up in 1988, known for taking clothes apart and rebuilding them in unexpected ways. Its perfume line, Replica, arrived in 2012, and each bottle sets out to capture one remembered scene: a place, a season, an hour of the day. The range swings between two moods. One is fresh and clean, with bergamot, white musk and a soapy, watery lift. The other is warm and spiced, built on vanilla, benzoin, patchouli and a curl of smoke. Start with Under the Stars, spicy woods with a leather edge. Jazz Club is sweet and smoky, the one for evenings in. When the Rain Stops is cool and aquatic, with a floral hint.
