Mugler

Mugler is the French fashion house Manfred Thierry Mugler launched in 1974, and its perfume has always gone for bold rather than safe. Its first scent, Angel, came in 1992 and put caramel, chocolate and vanilla at the heart of a fine fragrance, the sweet style now called gourmand. Alien followed in 2005, pairing jasmine with amber. The range still splits along those two lines. On one side sit patchouli, caramel and coconut; on the other, white flowers glowing over cashmeran and woods. Start with Alien, all jasmine and golden amber. Angel is sweet and dark, with fruit over patchouli. Alien Goddess softens things with vanilla and a powdery bloom. Angel Elixir sits between the two, white florals on a vanilla and wood base.
