What does Vanilla Powder smell like?

Vanilla Powder by Matiere Premiere is an unisex eau de parfum from 2023. Its notes are short and easy to read. The top pairs coconut with vanilla, the heart is palo santo, and the base is white musk. That is the whole list, which is why a clone has little room to hide: every note it adds, or leaves out, shows up when you set the two lists next to each other. This is the one the clones below are measured against.

Vanilla Powder or the Extrait?

Matiere Premiere also makes Vanilla Powder Extrait, launched in 2025. It lists coconut and heliotrope on top, Madagascar vanilla in the heart, and lactones and tonka bean underneath. It is a separate perfume with its own note list. The votes below were cast against the 2023 eau de parfum, so read every clone as a comparison with that version. Immortal Vanilla by Zara has the largest vote of any clone in this guide. On Parfumo's comparison page, 81 of 90 voting members call it similar to Vanilla Powder. Both perfumes list coconut. The main difference is the length of the list: Immortal Vanilla adds salty notes, caramel, magnolia, jasmine, incense, amber and cashmere wood around that coconut. It suits you if you like where Vanilla Powder starts but want more to unfold around it. If you prefer the short, quiet list of the original, wear that instead. Queen of Arabia by Lattafa Pride comes second. On Parfumo, 40 of 46 voting members call it similar to Vanilla Powder. Both list coconut, and Queen of Arabia adds salt, heliotrope, sandalwood, amber and vanilla. A Fragrantica member who owns both Queen of Arabia and Fursan White writes that Queen of Arabia goes more straight into the coconut-vanilla powder. That is one member's view, not a consensus. Fursan White by Khadlaj is the fresher take, going by one member's account of its opening. On Parfumo, 64 of 82 voting members call it similar to Vanilla Powder. Both list coconut; Fursan White adds bergamot and jasmine, then musk and almond, then nutmeg, vanilla and cedarwood. Souvenir Blooming Bliss by Afnan lists white musk and coconut, as Vanilla Powder does, and it also lists palo santo, the heart note of the original. On Parfumo, 41 of 49 voting members call it similar. The main difference, going by the lists, is what surrounds those shared notes: Blooming Bliss also lists vanilla, caramel and sandalwood. Caramel is the sweet note on its list. It suits you if palo santo is the part of Vanilla Powder you want to keep and you do not mind more sugar around it. Infrad Luxe by Zimaya has the lowest bottle price here, and its note list shares several notes with the original's. It lists coconut and white musk like Vanilla Powder, and palo santo like Blooming Bliss. It also lists vanilla, caramel and sandalwood. Bora Bora by FIORE rests on a different kind of evidence: the house's own statement, with no member votes. FIORE presents it as its Duftzwilling of Vanilla Powder. Vanilla Powder lists four notes: coconut, vanilla, palo santo and white musk. Going by the lists, none of the five clones voted on Parfumo stops there. Each adds notes the original does not list: caramel, sandalwood, amber, jasmine and more. Only Blooming Bliss and Infrad Luxe list palo santo. Only Immortal Vanilla, Queen of Arabia and Fursan White list coconut without white musk. Bora Bora lists neither coconut nor palo santo. So a clone shares part of the original's list, while the exact balance is something you will only find out on skin.

How to test a dupe

Judge a clone on your skin rather than a paper strip. Spray Vanilla Powder one day and the clone the next, on the same spot of the same wrist, then compare them late in the day once each has settled. Note how each one settles on your skin. A 3ml decant is 60 sprays, enough to repeat that test a few times before you pick a bottle.
