Fragrance Du Bois is a niche house based in Paris, set up in 2013 around one material, oud, with a stated focus on sourcing it responsibly. Expect smoky, balsamic and slightly earthy perfume, softened by amber and vanilla. Saffron, cardamom and pink pepper bring heat, while rose or cherry adds sweetness. Sirène is the easiest way in: dark cherry and amber wrapped around oud. Oud Rose Intense and Oud Orange Intense come from the first year and show where the house began. Lucius and New York 5th Avenue show its newer work. A small bottle tells you how oud sits on your skin.
