Juliette Has a Gun is a French fragrance house founded in 2006 by Romano Ricci, great-grandson of Nina Ricci, and created between Paris and Grasse. Its muse is a Shakespearean heroine moved into the 21st century: Juliet with a gun, a metaphor for her perfume as her weapon of seduction. The house treats a signature scent as a statement rather than something that simply smells nice. Its first two fragrances, Lady Vengeance and Miss Charming, were composed by Francis Kurkdjian in 2006, and in 2010 Not a Perfume made the house famous by building a whole perfume on a single molecule, Cetalox. Today the collection runs from clean musks and airy woods to the green pear of Pear Inc., the salted vanilla of Vanilla Vibes and the gourmand raspberry of Mmmm....
