Privacy policy for 10ML Perfume Finder
The 10ML Perfume Finder browser extension matches perfumes inside your browser. Nothing you browse is sent to 10ML or to anyone else.
Last updated 19 October 2026
The short version
The extension has no account, no tracking and no ads, and it collects no personal data. It never sends the pages you visit or the perfumes you look at to 10ML or to anyone else. What you type reaches 10ml.com only when you choose to open a search there.
What is stored on your device
The extension keeps a few things in your browser’s own extension storage. They stay on your device and are never uploaded.
- Your settings Whether the card appears automatically on perfume pages, the sites where you chose Hide on this site, and whether the card is collapsed.
- Recently viewed perfumes Up to 20 perfumes the card showed you or that you opened, so you can find them again in the popup. You can clear the list there.
- The cached catalogue 10ML’s public catalogue and the time it was last downloaded, so that search and prices appear instantly.
What the extension downloads
To work, the extension downloads two kinds of public files: the catalogue file from 10ml.com (perfume names, houses, notes, sizes and prices), which it checks for a newer version every six hours, and product images from 10ML’s image server, img.10ml.com. These are the same files any visitor of 10ml.com loads. The requests contain no information about the page you are viewing.
Matching a perfume page to the catalogue happens inside your browser.
When the extension opens 10ml.com
Right after you install it, the extension opens its own page on 10ml.com once, in your browser’s language, to show you how to pin it.
After that, it opens 10ml.com only when you ask it to: when you select a perfume on the card or in the popup, press Enter in the popup’s search box, choose Search 10ML in the right-click menu, or press Enter after typing 10ML and a search in the address bar. A search opens 10ml.com’s search page with the words you typed or selected in its address, just as if you had searched on 10ml.com itself.
These links carry a short tag that names the extension, your browser and the feature you used, so 10ML can tell the visit came from the extension. They never contain the page you were on. Once the page is open you are on 10ml.com, and the 10ml.com privacy policy applies.
What is never sent
The extension does not send any of the following anywhere:
- The pages you visit Neither their addresses nor their content.
- The perfumes you look at The card recognises them inside your browser, on supported sites and everywhere else.
- What you type before you search Suggestions in the popup and in the address bar come from the catalogue on your device. Only a search you choose to open on 10ml.com reaches 10ml.com.
Why each permission is needed
Your browser lists the permissions below when you install the extension. This is what each one is for.
- storage Saves your settings, your recently viewed perfumes and the cached catalogue on your device.
- alarms Checks for a newer catalogue every six hours, so prices stay current.
- contextMenus Adds Search 10ML to the right-click menu when you select text.
- activeTab When you click the 10ML icon, lets the popup look at the tab you are on, on any website, to show a matching perfume under On this page. Without that click it has no access.
- scripting Works with activeTab: reads the perfume’s name, notes and product details from that tab, inside your browser. Nothing from the page is sent anywhere.
- Access to the supported perfume sites Lets the card appear on the perfume pages of the supported fragrance databases and perfume shops, and lets the extension read the perfume shown there to match it to the catalogue.
- Access to 10ml.com and img.10ml.com Downloads the public catalogue and the product images.
Sharing
10ML does not sell, share or pass on data from the extension to third parties, because the extension collects none.
Removing everything
Removing the extension from your browser deletes everything it stored on your device.
Changes to this policy
This page is updated when the extension changes in a way that affects your privacy. The date at the top shows the latest update.
