Escentric Molecules is a German house, started in 2006 by perfumer Geza Schoen, that builds its perfumes around one aroma-molecule at a time. The idea is simple: strip a scent back until one material does the talking. Molecule 02 is ambroxan on its own, warm, mineral and quietly salty. Escentric 01 wraps Iso E Super in lime, pink pepper and orris. Molecule 01 + Ginger, from 2023, adds a fresh, spicy snap of ginger. All three are unisex, and each smells slightly different from one person to the next.
