Xerjoff is a Turin house, started in 2007 by Sergio Momo to make perfume with the richness of Italian design: dense, golden and unashamedly sweet. Most of the range sits in warm territory, with vanilla, amber and tonka bean underneath and saffron, cinnamon or cardamom for heat. A bright streak of bergamot keeps several of them from feeling heavy. Begin with XJ 1861 Naxos, where lavender meets honey over a sweet vanilla base. Erba Pura is the sunny one, a juicy fruit-and-citrus blend, and Lira turns citrus into something close to caramel. For a greener side of the house, try Torino21, fresh with aromatic herbs.
