What every clone gets wrong

The hardest part of Erba Pura to match is the part the house never names. Its heart is listed as fruits and nothing more, so every clone fills that gap its own way: melon and pineapple in Amber Oud Gold Edition and Royal Amber, pear in Ana Abiyedh, unnamed fruity notes in Philos Pura and King. Each choice moves the perfume a little away from the original, towards tropical, towards pear, or towards nothing in particular.

The second gap is balance. Two perfumes can list the same six notes and still smell unlike each other, because a note list says nothing about quantities or the quality of the materials.
