Each rival fact below was read on the shop's own site on 13 October 2026, so every column header carries that date. Shops change their ranges, thresholds and processing times, so check the shop before you order.

Two things stand out. The four German rivals all sell full bottles as well as samples, which is why several of their extras are credits towards a bottle. And two of the perfumes many people want to test before spending on a bottle, Aventus and Baccarat Rouge 540, are ones none of them lets you try in a small size.

Aus Liebe zum Duft

This shop sells samples in spray tubes and full bottles from the same site. Its distinctive offer is the free-sample request that comes with a larger order, which is a good way to add a perfume you are curious about. It has a lower free-delivery threshold than 10ML. Check the processing time in the table before you order samples, because that is where it differs most from the other shops.

Essenza Nobile

Essenza Nobile fills samples into an atomiser and also sells bottles. Its scheme is clear: the value of a sample is credited when you later order the original bottle of that perfume. That suits someone who already knows they will buy the bottle if the sample works. Like Aus Liebe zum Duft, it has a lower free-delivery threshold than 10ML.

Parfinity

Parfinity fills its samples from original bottles and offers the most delivery options of the five, with a small-parcel service at a lower fee and a stated range of working days. Its Parfinity Box turns a larger sample order into a set whose price is credited when you later buy. Its range is wide, but it does not stock Creed or Maison Francis Kurkdjian.

Woodberg

Woodberg offers the smallest samples of the group, which is useful when you only want a first look at many perfumes. Its sample boxes come with vouchers. Its range does not include Creed or Maison Francis Kurkdjian, and orders containing samples can take longer than the other shops, so plan ahead.

You can start with a 3ml, move to a 10ml for weeks of wear, and keep a 30ml of the ones that stay. How to test a niche perfume
