What does Blue Talisman smell like?

Blue Talisman is a 2023 Ex Nihilo Eau de Parfum built around one idea: a juicy pear sitting on clean, airy musk. The opening pairs that pear with bergamot and mandarin, and a thread of ginger keeps it from turning into plain fruit. The heart adds orange blossom and Georgywood, a modern woody material. The base is where the house puts its weight: Ambrofix and Akigalawood, two dry woody materials, over a bed of musk. The house describes the pear resting on soft, abstract musks, and that dry, diffusive trail is the part people either love or find too synthetic.

There is also Blue Talisman Extrait de Parfum, a stronger concentration on a similar pear and musk frame, priced from €23.90 for 3ml at 10ML. Several of the clones below are aimed at the Eau de Parfum, not the Extrait, so compare against the version you actually know.

Legacy by Maison Asrar opens on pear, ginger and bergamot, moves to orange blossom and jasmine with woody notes, and settles on musk, amber and vanilla. The first two stages follow Blue Talisman closely, and the ginger is there, which Turathi Electric leaves out.

The main difference: the base. Where the original uses its dry woody-amber materials, Legacy lists amber and vanilla, so the finish is warmer, rounder and sits closer to the skin. One Fragrantica member finds it muskier, with less of the original's spice; members who own Blue Talisman call it very close, especially once dried down. Two wearers say a new bottle only came into its own after about three months of rest.

Mint joins the citrus on top, and the pear moves down into the heart, so the opening is sharper and more peel-like, and the whole scent reads sweeter and louder. The main difference: on paper, very little. The one detailed Parfumo write-up describes a bright, fruity start that settles into a smooth, clean woody-musk scent without harshness, and says anyone who knows Blue Talisman will recognise it at once. That smoother, less synthetic finish is why it sits here as the softer take. The evidence is thinner than for the picks above, with only a handful of write-ups so far.

7Premium alternative: Blue Spell

Blue Spell by Yom & Layl is the dearest bottle in the table. The house describes it as an oil-based perfume inspired by Blue Talisman and publishes the same note names: pear, bergamot, mandarin and ginger, orange blossom and Georgywood, then Ambrofix, musk and Akigalawood.

The main difference: the format. An oil-based perfume usually sits closer to the skin and develops differently from an alcohol spray, so expect a quieter, denser version of the same idea. We found no detailed owner comparison on the fragrance databases, only a forum recommendation, so the note list is most of what supports it.

Who it suits: someone who prefers perfume oils, or who wants a smaller-bottle option from a house that sells it in several sizes.

The real thing as a 10ml decant, or a clone bottle?

Blue Talisman costs €49.90 at 10ML for a 10ml decant from the original bottle, or €4.99/ml. Its 200 or so sprays cover a summer of weekends with ease. Three clone bottles in the table, each holding 90ml or 100ml, cost less than that decant, so per ml every clone is far lower.

The honest trade is this. A clone gives you a large bottle of something close. A 10ml decant gives you weeks of the actual perfume, with the dry Ambrofix and Akigalawood base the clones approximate. If you reach for this style every summer morning, a clone bottle is the sensible buy. If you wear it now and then, or you have never smelled the original, start with 3ml of the real one and you will know exactly what you are comparing against.

What every clone gets wrong

Line the seven note lists up and one thing stands out: the pear, citrus and orange blossom are the easy consensus. Where the clones split is on two things: the ginger, and what sits at the very bottom.

The ginger is the most common casualty. It is a small note in Blue Talisman, but it gives the pear a bite, and without it the opening drifts towards fruit salad. The second is sugar. The original is barely sweet, and its dry woody-amber base keeps it that way; several clones add vanilla or amber, or simply more sweetness, which makes them easier to like at first and less distinctive by the afternoon.
