Quick answer
The best Guerlain dupe overall is Rêve Indien by Fragonard, a Shalimar alternative that also has the lowest price per ml of the four picks with a euro price. Closest on the dry-down is Seductive Noir by Guess, for Mon Guerlain. Want the real thing? Shalimar is €23.13 for a 10ml decant at 10ML.
You can try the original, Shalimar Eau de Parfum, at 10ML as a 10 ml decant from €23.13, before you choose a dupe.

This guide covers three Guerlain perfumes, each with its own picks: Shalimar, Mon Guerlain and Spiritueuse Double Vanille. For the house as a whole, start with the best Guerlain perfumes, then come back here to compare the clones. Every comparison below is attributed to the member or the house that made it, and the thin ones say so.
What does Shalimar smell like?
Shalimar Eau de Parfum by Guerlain is a women's perfume, launched in 1990 in this concentration and listed for going out. The top mixes citruses with bergamot, lemon, cedar and mandarin orange. Vetiver, jasmine, iris, patchouli and rose form the heart. The base holds vanilla, incense, leather, opoponax, civet, sandalwood, tonka bean and musk. Guerlain calls it the first ambery perfume in history and built on its Guerlinade signature. That smoky, vanilla-heavy base is what members measure the three Shalimar picks against.

- Several Fragrantica members link Rêve Indien to Shalimar: one finds it very close to Shalimar, a Shalimar without the bergamot, smoke or leather, though she would not call it a replacement; another calls it Shalimar on a budget but finds Shalimar much more sophisticated, with Rêve Indien going quickly to amber and vanilla. Dissent: one member says it is not a Shalimar dupe by any means, more a possible flanker; another finds more patchouli and amber, less citrus and vanilla, and a different dry-down. - Fragrantica lists bergamot and Amalfi lemon; iris, jasmine and rose; amber, vanilla and patchouli for Rêve Indien, an eau de toilette. Rêve Indien by Fragonard (Fragrantica)

- Rêve Indien gives you more perfume: 200ml against 3ml.
- 10ML has not worn these two side by side; each claim above names its source.

Best overall: Rêve Indien

Fragonard's Rêve Indien is an eau de toilette from an independent house that does not present it as inspired by Shalimar, so we call it an alternative. Fragrantica lists bergamot and Amalfi lemon, then iris, jasmine and rose, over amber, vanilla and patchouli.
The main difference is the opening and the smoke. Several Fragrantica members link it to Shalimar. One finds it very close, a Shalimar without the bergamot, smoke or leather, though she would not call it a replacement. Another calls it Shalimar on a budget, finds Shalimar much more sophisticated, and says Rêve Indien goes quickly to amber and vanilla.
Not everyone agrees. One member rejects the dupe label outright and sees a possible flanker instead. Another finds more patchouli and amber, less citrus and vanilla, and a different dry-down. It suits you if you want the amber and vanilla without the leather, and you accept that members split on how close it gets.

Premium alternative: Felanilla 21

- €120.00 · 50 ml

Felanilla 21 comes from Pierre Guillaume Paris, a niche house, and "premium" here means its price and niche origin, not that it beats Shalimar. Fragrantica's list names amber and saffron with Tahitian vanilla, Italian iris, hay and banana leaf, and gives it a 2008 launch.
Members on Fragrantica place it near Shalimar rather than on it. One calls it a lovely Shalimar-esque fragrance but will stick with her Shalimar, and suggests it for people who find Shalimar too much. Another sees a good alternative for Shalimar Eau de Toilette. A third is reminded of Shalimar Parfum Initial more than regular Shalimar, and finds the dry-down more spicy and resinous. One member dislikes its chilly, powdery iris.
The main difference, as members tell it, is a gentler route to the vanilla, with a more spicy, resinous dry-down. It suits you if Shalimar feels like too much and you want a niche take on its vanilla and iris.

The community evidence for Sultan Noir by Pascal Morabito is thin: two Fragrantica members, and one of them says it is by no means a dupe. Fragrantica lists incense and apple, then cinnamon, agarwood (oud) and iris, over leather, amberwood and vanilla, and gives it a 2020 launch.
One member on Fragrantica calls it almost a Shalimar dupe for cold evenings. The other gets Shalimar vibes from its smokiness but finds it softer, gentler and cosier, and adds that it is only a similar vibe. The main difference is the softness. Treat it as a pick for a cosy, smoky mood rather than a close match, and know it may be hard to find: the house shop showed no Sultan Noir in stock when we checked.
What does Mon Guerlain smell like?
Mon Guerlain by Guerlain is a women's perfume launched in 2017, listed for work. Lavender and bergamot open it, over iris, jasmine sambac and rose. Tahitian vanilla, coumarin, Australian sandalwood, licorice, benzoin and patchouli make the base. It is the lavender-and-vanilla Guerlain, a different mood from the smoky Shalimar, so it gets its own pick.

Closest on the dry-down: Seductive Noir

- €35.00 · 30 ml

Seductive Noir is a Guess eau de toilette, a designer house rather than a clone house. Several members on Fragrantica compare it with Mon Guerlain. One finds it a great Mon Guerlain dupe with a gentler start and a powdery vanilla dry-down. Another finds the eau de toilette smells a lot like Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum, with a sage opening less sharp than Mon Guerlain's lavender but a less rich blend. A third finds the DNA close enough, while Mon Guerlain is smoother.
The main difference is the start and the richness: a gentler, sage-led opening and a less rich blend. There is dissent too. One member says it is not exactly a dupe and does not last long. Another finds it closer to Mon Guerlain Intense and more masculine, and a third finds the herbs turned up and scratchier. It suits you if you like the vanilla dry-down of Mon Guerlain and are happy with a lighter, herbal start.
What does Spiritueuse Double Vanille smell like?
Spiritueuse Double Vanille by Guerlain is a unisex perfume. Bergamot, incense, pink pepper and bitter orange open it. Bulgarian rose, cedar, jasmine and ylang-ylang sit in the heart. Benzoin, vanilla, tonka bean and white musk form the base. Incense and spice over vanilla make it the boozy, resinous end of the house, and the one people search for as a Spiritueuse Double Vanille dupe.

Alexandria Fragrances presents Vanille Dorée as inspired by Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille. Parfumo's comparison page shows 17 of 30 voting members finding it similar. Its Fragrantica notes cover vanilla and benzoin with cedar, jasmine and ylang-ylang, plus incense, bergamot, Bulgarian rose and pink pepper, and a 2018 launch.
The main difference is the opening. A Fragrantica member who owns Spiritueuse Double Vanille finds it not really close as a clone: it opens with a greener, tea-leaf note, with much less incense, booze and spice, and leans slightly more feminine. She still calls it a very good fragrance for its price. It suits you if you want the vanilla in a fresher, greener frame and care less about the spice.

Evidence for Be Layered's Sweet Spirit is thin: the Fragrantica page has few votes and only a handful of written reactions. Fragrantica lists vanilla and benzoin, plus incense, cedar, pink pepper and ylang-ylang, with bergamot, Bulgarian rose and jasmine, and gives it a 2020 launch.
On Fragrantica, one member finds it smells like firewood doused in Spiritueuse Double Vanille, slightly smokier and woodier than the Guerlain it echoes, and calls it a great dupe. A member who owns Spiritueuse Double Vanille finds it very similar, a smoky vanilla. A third, who never tried the Guerlain, likes it but finds it not unique. The main difference is the extra smoke and wood. It suits you if you want the same vanilla pushed darker, and you are comfortable with so few opinions behind it.

Québec is FIORE's own composition, not the original. FIORE presents it as its Duftzwilling of Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille, an extrait de parfum it files as gourmand. It describes warm vanilla, golden rum and a touch of resin, and rates its sweetness 4 of 5 on its own scale, per FIORE's page.
That is the only evidence: we found no community comparison, so there is no member to say how close it gets. Going by the description, the main difference is sweetness. It suits you if you want a sweeter, rum-leaning vanilla and will judge the likeness yourself.

What every Guerlain clone gets wrong
Across the picks, the same gaps appear. Members describe the Shalimar picks as missing parts of the original or going a different way in the dry-down. The Mon Guerlain pick changes the start. The Spiritueuse Double Vanille picks lose some of the incense and spice, turn it darker, or, on FIORE's own description, lean sweeter. Guerlain presents the Guerlinade as its own signature, and none of the pages we read credits a pick with it.
If you would rather wear an original that points the same way, 10ML stocks similar originals. Cappadocia by Memo Paris pairs vanilla and benzoin with frankincense and orris root. Encens Suave by Matiere Premiere sets incense and Madagascar vanilla over benzoin. Libre Intense by Yves Saint Laurent combines lavender and Madagascar vanilla with tonka bean, and Myrrh & Tonka by Jo Malone London sets myrrh over tonka bean and vanilla.
How to test a Guerlain dupe against the original
Do not judge on paper, since vanilla and incense turn on skin. Wear the original one day and a clone the next, so the two do not blur, then wear them on two wrists and wait four to eight hours for the dry-down: Shalimar and Spiritueuse Double Vanille are built on their base notes, and that is where most picks differ.
Start with a 3ml of the original, €8.10 for about 60 sprays, and step up to the 10ml decant, €23.13, if you keep reaching for it. Read how to choose between a dupe and an original decant, and for the wider picture see perfume dupes and what a decant is. If vanilla is your thing, the best vanilla perfumes and powdery perfumes go further, and for other houses read Creed dupes or Vanilla Powder dupes.
Clone or original? What to know first
- Can I wear Shalimar in 3ml or 10ml before choosing a Guerlain clone?
- Yes. We fill 3ml and 10ml decants from the original bottle. The 3ml is €8.10 and gives about 60 sprays to discover it, and the 10ml decant is €23.13 for about 200 sprays to wear for weeks, next to any clone you are considering.
- Which Shalimar dupe leads our ranking, and why?
- Rêve Indien by Fragonard. Several Fragrantica members link it to Shalimar, and one finds it very close, a Shalimar without the bergamot, smoke or leather. It also has the lowest price per ml of the four picks with a euro price. Another member says it is not a Shalimar dupe by any means, so treat it as an alternative and try the original first.
- How close does a Mon Guerlain dupe like Seductive Noir get?
- One Fragrantica member calls Seductive Noir by Guess a great Mon Guerlain dupe with a gentler start and a powdery vanilla dry-down. It changes the opening to sage and the blend is less rich. One member says it is not exactly a dupe, and another finds it closer to Mon Guerlain Intense.
- Is there a Spiritueuse Double Vanille dupe with solid support?
- Support is mixed. Parfumo shows 17 of 30 voting members finding Vanille Dorée by Alexandria Fragrances similar to Spiritueuse Double Vanille, yet a Fragrantica member who owns the Guerlain finds it not really close, with a greener opening and much less incense and spice. Sweet Spirit by Be Layered has only a handful of written opinions.
- How do the Guerlain clones compare per ml with a Shalimar decant?
- The clone prices sit in the table on this page with the date we checked them. The Shalimar 10ml decant is €2.31/ml per ml, which lets you compare a clone bottle with wearing the original in smaller amounts.
- Which Guerlain clones share Shalimar's named notes?
- By the published lists, Rêve Indien shares bergamot, iris, jasmine, rose, vanilla and patchouli with Shalimar, and Sultan Noir shares incense, iris, leather and vanilla. Felanilla 21 shares vanilla and iris. Lists show shared names only, not how each perfume smells.
- Is there a Guerlain Duftzwilling for Spiritueuse Double Vanille?
- FIORE presents Québec as its Duftzwilling of Spiritueuse Double Vanille, an extrait de parfum with warm vanilla, golden rum and a touch of resin. We found no community comparison, so the likeness is FIORE's description. Alexandria Fragrances presents Vanille Dorée as inspired by it.
- How long does Shalimar last on skin?
- It depends on your skin and the weather. Wear a 3ml for a few days, and judge the dry-down late in the day, once it has settled, before you choose a bigger size or a Guerlain clone.
- Does 10ML sell dupes?
- No. 10ML sells only original perfumes. We buy our bottles from authorized EU distributors and directly from the brands, and 10ML decants every perfume itself. The dupes in this guide are other houses’ perfumes, and we don’t sell them. You can wear the original first from €8.10.
