What does Afternoon Swim smell like?

Afternoon Swim by Louis Vuitton launched in 2019 and is listed as unisex. It is a citrus perfume with an aquatic heart, and its accords read fresh, citrus, aquatic and fruity. Malibu by FIORE rests on the house's own statement, not on a vote. FIORE presents Malibu as its Duftzwilling of Afternoon Swim, the German word for a dupe. It describes sparkling orange, juicy mandarin and fresh bergamot, and files the scent as a fresh-aromatic day perfume. It lists bergamot, mandarin and orange.

Going by that list, the main difference is what it does not name: no ambergris, no ginger and no aquatic heart appear on it. Kiage 110 by Kiage leans on the house too. Kiage says that its 110 reminds it of Afternoon Swim, sells it as an Afternoon Swim Duftzwilling, and describes a sparkling, fresh citrus scent.

Pana Dora lists bergamot, lemon, grapefruit and tangerine over lily of the valley, iris and melon, and a base of amber, sandalwood, tonka and vetiver.

The main difference is in that base: amber, sandalwood, tonka and vetiver rather than ambergris and ginger, with a floral middle of lily of the valley and iris. So this is a floral and woody take rather than a saving, because it costs about as much as the original per ml. It suits you if you want the citrus opening with a softer, floral middle.
