What does Louis Vuitton Imagination smell like?

Imagination by Louis Vuitton launched in 2021 as a men's scent, though its character is easy for anyone to wear. The top is citron, Calabrian bergamot and Sicilian orange: clean, bright and slightly bitter. Warmth comes next, from ginger grown in Nigeria, cinnamon from Ceylon and a Tunisian neroli. Hectic by Bujairami has the most complete note list of the seven. A member on Fragrantica comparing three Imagination alternatives found Hectic the best-smelling and most complex of the three. It is less widely stocked than the others, and sellers disagree on its concentration.

Amber Oud Aqua Dubai by Al Haramain is not sold as an Imagination alternative, but it is often put forward as one. That is very close to the published pyramid of the original, with lemon in place of citron.

The main difference, on its listing, is sweetness and fruit. The Parfumo community ranks it citrus and fresh, then fruity and sweet, with a synthetic facet, and leans its style modern ahead of masculine. There is less independent comment on it than on the other clones.

It suits someone who wants the full Imagination structure and is prepared to pay a niche-house price for it. Basis: published notes.

What every clone gets wrong

The black tea is the hard part. Two clones in this guide, Sunrise and Aqua Dubai, list no tea at all, and Hawas Kobra and Art of Arabia I list green tea or plain black tea in place of the original's Chinese black tea. That note is what turns Imagination from a citrus cologne into something drier and more grown-up, and a clone without it drifts toward a generic fresh scent after the first hour.

The second gap is balance. The original keeps its citrus, spice and tea in proportion; clones tend to push one of them. Hawas Kobra and Hectic lean into spice, Sunrise and Fullhouse into fruit, Aqua Dubai into soap and green notes. None is wrong, but each is a choice the original does not make.
