What does tuberose smell like?
Tuberose is a white flower native to Mexico. Wikipedia says its overwhelming fragrance has been distilled for perfumery since the 17th century, after the flower reached Europe. The name comes from the Latin tuberosa through French tubéreuse, meaning swollen or tuberous, and refers to the roots. It has nothing to do with roses.
Smelled on its own, it is a heady, creamy white flower. Wikipedia adds that the essence is so strong it generally has to be used in moderation.
