Lancôme decants: 14 scents, from Idôle and La Vie Est Belle to Trésor
Compare 14 Lancôme perfumes in 3ml and 10ml: nine Idôle and La Vie Est Belle versions, five classics, community votes and three-decant starter sets.
In this guide
A Lancôme decant gives you a practical way to compare the 14 perfumes in this guide before choosing a full bottle: four Idôle versions, five La Vie Est Belle versions and five classics (Trésor, La Nuit Trésor, Miracle, Poême and Ô de Lancôme). Use the tables to narrow them down, then wear two candidates in 3ml on different days or one on each wrist. 10ML fills its 3ml and 10ml decants from the original bottle, so you can judge the opening, heart and base on your own skin.

La Vie Est Belle decants: five versions compared
The original La Vie Est Belle is the reference point. This 2012 Eau de Parfum starts with pear and black currant. Its floral centre combines orange blossom, jasmine and iris, while the base lists tonka bean, patchouli, praline and vanilla. Each version below is its own composition, not simply a stronger or weaker filling of that perfume.
| Version | What it adds or drops vs the original | When it suits, from votes |
|---|---|---|
| La Vie Est Belle | The reference: fruit, an iris-jasmine-orange blossom heart, and a vanilla-praline-patchouli-tonka base | Winter and fall; night, evening and day |
| L'Eau de Parfum Intense | Adds pink pepper, tuberose, ylang-ylang and extra citrus; replaces the vanilla, praline, patchouli and tonka bean base with whipped cream and hazelnut | Winter and fall; night and evening |
| La Vie est Belle L'Elixir | Trades pear and black currant for raspberry, liquor and Calabrian bergamot; violet leaf and rose lead to leather, cacao butter and cedarwood | Winter and fall; night and evening |
| L'Elixir Very Cherry | Adds black cherry, cherry liqueur and pink pepper; Damask rose joins violet leaf, iris and jasmine over oud, vanilla, cocoa, patchouli and cedar | Winter and fall; evening and night |
| Vanille Nude | Drops the fruit-iris-praline structure for solar notes and jasmine, a Bourbon vanilla heart, and white musk with sandalwood | Fall, winter and spring; day |
Community votes on the original's longevity lean "long lasting", with "eternal" next. Its sillage votes lean "strong", then "moderate". For Intense, the longevity vote leans "eternal", with "long lasting" behind it. On sillage, voters lean "strong"; "enormous" follows. For L'Elixir, the longevity vote favours "long lasting" over "moderate". On sillage, voters lean "moderate", with "strong" behind it. Very Cherry's longevity votes lean "long lasting", followed by "moderate". Its sillage votes lean "strong", then "moderate". Vanille Nude has season and time-of-day votes, but no longevity or sillage vote is listed. These are community perceptions, not promises for your skin.
Start with the original if you want the pear, iris and praline structure. Choose Intense for tuberose with whipped cream and hazelnut, L'Elixir for raspberry over leather and cacao butter, Very Cherry for cherry liqueur and cocoa, or Vanille Nude for Bourbon vanilla and white musk. Idôle decants: four versions compared
Idôle begins with pear, bergamot and pink pepper, moves to rose and jasmine, and ends on white musk, vanilla, patchouli and cedar. Its accords run from rose and musky to fruity, sweet and powdery. The other three versions keep rose but rearrange the fruit, flowers and base around it.
| Version | What it adds or drops vs the original | When it suits, from votes |
|---|---|---|
| Idôle | The reference: pear and pink pepper, rose and jasmine, then white musk, vanilla, patchouli and cedar | Spring and summer; day and office |
| Idôle Nectar | Drops the pear, citrus and jasmine; Grasse rose, rose and Turkish rose sit over caramel and popcorn, with vanilla | Fall and winter; evening and night |
| Idôle Now | Pares the structure back to rose, orchid and vanilla; drops the pear, jasmine, patchouli and cedar | Fall and spring; evening and day |
| Idôle Power | Swaps pear for apple, uses May Rose alone at the heart and replaces vanilla, white musk, patchouli and cedar with sandalwood | Spring; day |
Community votes on the original Idôle's longevity settle clearly on "moderate". The sillage vote has a clear "moderate" majority as well. Nectar's longevity is rated "moderate" by most community voters. Most voters rate its sillage "moderate" as well. For Now, longevity votes lean "moderate", then "long lasting". Its sillage is rated "moderate" by most community voters. For Power, the longevity vote leans "long lasting" rather than "moderate". Most community voters rate Power's sillage "moderate".
Pick the original for the fullest pear, rose and white musk comparison. Nectar is the direction for caramel and popcorn under three roses. Now suits a simpler rose, orchid and vanilla structure, while Power swaps the sweetness of pear for apple and places May Rose over sandalwood. Wearing the original beside one flanker will tell you more than treating the names as strength labels.
Five Lancôme classics worth trying in 3ml
The two big families do not cover the whole house. These five older perfumes move from powdery fruit and dense white florals to fresh spice and citrus, so they make useful contrasts in a starter set.
Trésor by Lancôme
Trésor is a 1990 Eau de Parfum credited to Sophia Grojsman. The opening combines peach and pineapple with bergamot, lilac, apricot blossom, lily-of-the-valley and rose. Iris, heliotrope and jasmine form the heart, while apricot, vanilla, sandalwood, amber and musk make the base. Its accords read fruity, powdery and floral rather than as a simple rose perfume. Community votes on longevity lean "long lasting", then "moderate". Sillage votes lean "moderate", with "strong" next. Voters pick it for fall and for day and evening wear. A 3ml decant is €7.02.
La Nuit Trésor by Lancôme
Treat La Nuit Trésor as its own perfume, not a stronger or weaker Trésor. Pear, tangerine and bergamot open this 2015 release. Passionfruit, strawberry, vanilla orchid and black rose create a sweeter heart. Its broad base lists praline, caramel, litchi, vanilla, patchouli, incense, coffee, licorice, coumarin and papyrus. Longevity votes lean "long lasting", with "eternal" next. Sillage votes lean "strong", then "moderate". Community voters choose it for winter and for night and evening wear. Try a 3ml for €8.10 when you want to compare its sweet, spicy base with Trésor's powdery fruit.
Miracle by Lancôme
Miracle, from 2000, takes a fresher and spicier route. Litchi and freesia open it, followed by a heart of pepper, ginger, magnolia, mandarin orange and jasmine. Musk and amber form the base. Its accords include floral, fresh spicy, citrus, fruity and tropical. For Miracle, the longevity vote is clearly "moderate". Community votes on sillage also settle on "moderate". Spring and summer lead the season votes, and day wear leads the time-of-day votes. It is the classic to compare with Ô de Lancôme when you want flowers and spice rather than citrus and herbs. A 3ml decant costs €7.11.
Poême by Lancôme
Poême is a 1995 perfume with a broad floral structure. Datura, peach, plum, Himalayan poppy and black currant are part of its opening. The heart brings mimosa, tuberose, ylang-ylang, orange blossom, jasmine, heliotrope and rose among its flowers, plus leather. Musk, cedar, vanilla, amber and tonka bean sit underneath. Yellow floral and white floral lead its accords, with powdery, sweet and green facets. Poême's longevity vote favours "eternal" over "long lasting". Its sillage vote points to "strong", then "enormous". Voters pick it for fall and winter, and for evening and night. A 3ml is €7.56.
Ô de Lancôme by Lancôme
Ô de Lancôme is the fresh outlier: a 1969 Eau de Toilette credited to Robert Gonnon. Lemon, bergamot, honeysuckle and mandarin orange open it. Basil, rosemary, coriander and jasmine make an aromatic heart, followed by oakmoss, vetiver and sandalwood. Citrus, aromatic, fresh spicy, woody and mossy are among its accords. Ô de Lancôme has a clear "moderate" longevity vote. Most community voters put its sillage at "moderate". Voters choose it for summer and for day and office wear. Its 3ml decant is €5.85.
How to test two versions side by side with 3ml decants
A 3ml decant holds around 60 sprays, enough to wear two versions through a three-day comparison without judging either from one quick spray. Keep the application consistent. Make separate notes for the first spray, the floral centre and the base, so you can see where your preference changes. If you want to follow one material beyond this house, the pear, rose and vanilla note pages are useful references.
- Day one: wear the first version alone. Apply it to clean skin in the same place and at the same time you would normally wear perfume. Note whether the opening is what attracted you, then record how the heart and base change that first impression.
- Day two: wear the second version alone. Repeat the routine on the same skin rather than using a card. Comparing different days gives each perfume room to show its full structure and makes your notes easier to read afterwards.
- Day three: put one on each wrist. This gives you the direct contrast that separate days cannot. Compare the two openings first, then the hearts, then what remains later. If you repeat the exercise, swap the wrists so one side does not decide the result.
Different days are better for a clear verdict on each perfume; two wrists are better for spotting the exact point where they diverge. A short note such as "preferred the pear opening, but not the patchouli base" is more useful than a simple yes or no when you choose the next decant.
Three-decant starter sets by taste
Choose a set around the contrast you want to understand. Each grouping gives you three clearly different wears.
- Rose with different neighbours: Idôle, Idôle Now and Trésor. Compare pear and white musk in Idôle with orchid and vanilla in Now, then see how Trésor places rose among peach, apricot and powdery iris.
- Sweet evening wear: La Vie Est Belle, L'Eau de Parfum Intense and La Nuit Trésor. This set moves from praline and patchouli to whipped cream and hazelnut, then to caramel, coffee and incense. All three have winter and evening votes.
- Vanilla in three directions: Idôle Nectar, Vanille Nude and L'Elixir Very Cherry. Nectar pairs vanilla with caramel and popcorn, Vanille Nude uses Bourbon vanilla with white musk and sandalwood, and Very Cherry adds cocoa and black cherry.
- Fresh and soft daytime wear: Ô de Lancôme, Miracle and Vanille Nude. Compare citrus, basil and oakmoss with litchi, ginger and freesia, then finish with solar notes, jasmine and Bourbon vanilla. All three have daywear votes.

- Which La Vie Est Belle version should I try first?

- Is La Nuit Trésor a version of Trésor?
- La Nuit Trésor is its own perfume in the catalogue, not a stronger or weaker Trésor. It pairs pear and citrus with passionfruit, strawberry, vanilla orchid and black rose, then adds praline, caramel, coffee, incense and other base notes.
- Can I test two Lancôme versions at once?
- Yes. Put one version on each wrist for a direct comparison, then swap the wrists if you repeat it. Wearing each version alone on a different day gives a clearer view of its full opening, heart and base.
