Terre d'Hermès Dupes 2026: 7 Cheaper Alternatives Compared
Seven Terre d'Hermès dupes: six weighed against what Parfumo, Fragrantica and Basenotes members say, one read from its note list, plus how to wear the original in a 3ml or 10ml decant first.
We sell only the originals. Every perfume we sell is the authentic original, decanted from the perfume house’s own bottle. We buy our bottles from authorized EU distributors and directly from the brands, and 10ML decants every perfume itself. We never sell dupes, clones or inspired-by perfumes. This guide compares the dupes other houses make of Terre d'Hermès, so you can choose, or wear the original first.

Quick answer
The best overall Terre d'Hermès dupe is Rasasi Fattan pour Homme: 264 of 295 voting members on Parfumo's comparison page find it similar. Rituals Oasis Verte is closest on the dry-down, and Zara Vetiver Pamplemousse has the lowest listed price per ml of the three picks priced in euros. Want the real thing? Hermès Terre d'Hermès is €18.00 for a 10ml decant at 10ML.
You can try the original, Terre d'Hermès, at 10ML as a 10 ml decant from €18.00, before you choose a dupe.

What does Terre d'Hermès smell like?
Terre d'Hermès by Hermès came out in 2006. The house calls it mineral and woody, spicy and dry, with cedar, grapefruit and flint. Orange and grapefruit (orange, grapefruit) open it. Pepper, pelargonium and flint form the heart, and the base is vetiver, cedar, patchouli and benzoin. On paper, a citrus start gives way to a stony, dry heart, so any dupe has to follow that turn, not just the first spray. Our guide to what vetiver smells like explains the note that anchors the base.
Which Terre d'Hermès are you comparing?
We stock the 2006 eau de toilette, and every comparison below is made against it. The one other version we carry is Eau Intense Vétiver, launched in 2018, and its note list is built differently.
| Version | Notes from the catalogue | Nearest pick |
|---|---|---|
| Terre d'Hermès (2006) | Orange and grapefruit on top, pepper, pelargonium and flint in the heart, vetiver, cedar, patchouli and benzoin in the base | Fattan pour Homme, on 264 of 295 votes |
| Eau Intense Vétiver (2018) | Bergamot, grapefruit and lemon on top, Sichuan pepper and geranium in the heart, olibanum, patchouli, amberwood and vetiver in the base | Black Touch, going only by the bergamot, grapefruit, geranium, patchouli and vetiver both lists name |
Nobody we cite compared Eau Intense Vétiver with a clone, so the second row is our reading of two note lists, not a report from wearers.

Best overall: Fattan pour Homme

Rasasi Fattan pour Homme has the widest backing of any pick here: Parfumo's comparison page shows 264 of 295 voting members finding it similar to Terre d'Hermès Eau de Toilette. Parfumo's members class Fattan as citrus, woody, green and fresh first, and Terre d'Hermès as woody, earthy, citrus and spicy, so they rank green and fresh higher for Fattan than for the original.
In a Fragrantica forum thread on Fattan, the member who started it finds it very similar and quite close, though not perfect, and says the notes match except for Fattan's amber. Another member there finds it very close to the Hermès. In a thread on lower-priced alternatives, members call it a very close and inexpensive clone, close rather than exact.
The main difference is the one those classes and that thread point to: a greener, fresher lean, and an amber note that the original's list does not carry. It suits you if the green, citrus side of Terre d'Hermès is what you wear it for.
Even its fans rank the original higher. On Basenotes, a member who owns both finds Fattan not bad but Terre d'Hermès much better, and another calls it a good dupe while finding the Hermès infinitely better.

Closest on the dry-down: Oasis Verte
- Bottle price
- No EU price
- Basis of comparison
- Named source
Rituals Oasis Verte (2017) earns this label from a thread that asked which perfumes smell like the base of Terre d'Hermès: one member suggests it there, though they find it darker and nearer the Parfum. On Parfumo's comparison page, 75 of 100 voting members find it similar to Terre d'Hermès Eau de Toilette.
One Fragrantica commenter finds it almost exactly like the eau de toilette, with a slightly spicier, greener twist. On their skin it turns darker and greener as the vetiver comes through and ends bone-dry, green and spicy, and they find the two too similar to own both. Fragrantica lists grapefruit, lime and pink pepper on top, rhubarb, ginseng, geranium and violet in the heart, and vetiver, cedar, oak and patchouli in the base.
The main difference depends on who you ask. Another commenter finds it close to the Terre d'Hermès Parfum but less earthy, and others call it smoother and greener, or richer. In the lower-priced thread, one member names it a close one and another calls it an excellent clone.
It suits you if you care about the vetiver end of the wear more than the opening. One practical catch: commenters report it was discontinued for a time and is back at Rituals, but we could not find it in a search of Rituals' German and Dutch shops, so it can be hard to find.

Lowest price: Vetiver Pamplemousse
- Bottle price
- €29.95 · 100 ml
- Basis of comparison
- Named source
Read this one as a budget grapefruit-and-vetiver direction, not a close dupe. Of the three picks with a euro list price, Zara Vetiver Pamplemousse costs the least per ml. The other four carry no euro price on a house shop we could read, so the ranking covers only those three. The MAD Parfumeur bottle further down costs less as a bottle, but it holds half as much.
On Fragrantica, commenters relate it to Terre d'Hermès in different ways. One finds it Terre d'Hermès streamlined to the basics, cleaner and less masculine. Another says the dry-down, where the vetiver shows, reminds them of the Hermès. A third calls the soft vetiver dry-down kind of Hermès style, and a fourth likens it to a watered-down version of a Terre d'Hermès flanker, with grapefruit in place of that flanker's bitter orange. Fragrantica lists grapefruit, vetiver and mandarin (2019), with no pepper, flint or patchouli.
The weakness is on Parfumo, where only 3 of 11 voting members find it similar to Terre d'Hermès Eau de Toilette. That is a small sample, but it points the other way. It suits you if you want a plain citrus-vetiver scent and do not need the pepper or the stony turn.

Darker take: Black Touch

Franck Olivier Black Touch is the darker alternative, and that label rests on one forum post. In a thread on Terre d'Hermès alternatives, one member recommends it as a very good, inexpensive, dark, vetiver-heavy option, and another says it carries the main note of Terre d'Hermès without the orange at the start.
The opinions split in the Black Touch thread. Its starter finds it very reminiscent of Terre d'Hermès. Another finds it in the same vein but different, a lighter Terre d'Hermès. A third prefers it for a warmer quality and the mellow spices in the dry-down. In the lower-priced thread, one member got rid of a bottle as redundant next to Terre d'Hermès.
Fragrantica lists spices, grapefruit, cardamom and bergamot, then geranium, orange flower, jasmine and magnolia, then vetiver, cedar, patchouli, musk and vanilla in a woody spicy eau de toilette (2009). So the two lists share grapefruit, vetiver, cedar and patchouli. The main difference is no orange at the start and a base that adds musk and vanilla. It suits you if you wear Terre d'Hermès for its vetiver and would like it warmer, as that one member finds it.

Sweeter take: Cuir Vétiver

Yves Rocher Cuir Vétiver (2016) trades the original's edge for softness. In a thread on scents with a Terre d'Hermès feel, a member says it instantly reminded them of Terre d'Hermès, though less harsh and sharp, with a little more sweetness, settling close to the skin early. Another agrees and calls it a soft, smoky, suede-like vetiver.
Parfumo's comparison page shows 43 of 66 voting members finding it similar to Terre d'Hermès Eau de Toilette, and members class it woody, spicy, fresh, green, sweet and leathery. Its Fragrantica page lists vetiver, cedar, leather, sandalwood and tonka bean, so it shares vetiver and cedar with the original.
The lower-priced thread holds a dissent. One member, who had not tried it, had heard it is pretty close to the eau de toilette; another disagrees and finds it softer and warmer, like a Terre d'Hermès that has lost all its freshness. The main difference is that last point: less bite, more sweetness. It suits you if the original feels sharp on your skin. Like Oasis Verte, it had no in-stock euro price we could read on the house's own shops when we looked.

Dunhill Icon (2015) is a looser alternative, and the numbers lean against it. On Parfumo, only 58 of 156 voting members find it similar to Terre d'Hermès Eau de Toilette, so most voters do not. Members class it spicy, fresh, citrus, woody, green and floral, with fresh second where the original has it fifth.
The case for it comes from one forum post: a member finds Icon very similar but with a mega-dose of neroli, and prefers it. Another member agrees. That neroli is the main difference, and it moves Icon toward the floral, fresh end.
It suits you if you like the citrus side of Terre d'Hermès and want it with neroli. If you want the stony, earthy base, look at the picks above first.

Softer take: W143 Men

- Inferred from published notes
This is the one pick where the link is our own reading. MAD Parfumeur lists grapefruit and orange, geranium and patchouli, and cedarwood, vetiver, oakmoss and benzoin for W143 Men, an oil-based eau de parfum. The brand's page names no original, and none of our sources set it beside Terre d'Hermès.
Going by the two note lists, W143 Men shares grapefruit, orange, patchouli, cedar, vetiver and benzoin with the original, and lists geranium where Terre d'Hermès lists pelargonium, the plant behind the scented geraniums. It has no pepper and no flint, and it adds oakmoss. That is why we call it softer: a documented difference in the lists, not a claim about how it smells. We cannot say how it wears next to Terre d'Hermès, so treat it as the least proven pick here.

What every Terre d'Hermès clone gets wrong
Read the comments together and a pattern shows: the gaps people name sit at the start and in the freshness. One member says Black Touch has no orange at the start, one commenter hears grapefruit in Vetiver Pamplemousse where a flanker has bitter orange, and one member finds Cuir Vétiver has lost the freshness. Oasis Verte runs darker in one reading, and Icon adds a large dose of neroli.
None of these claims is a measurement, and each comes from a few people. What they suggest is that the citrus opening and the freshness are the hardest parts to hit, while the vetiver base is what commenters most often recognise. That is a good reason to test the dry-down on your own skin before you buy a 100ml bottle.
Perfumes like Terre d'Hermès you can wear in a decant
If you want vetiver and grapefruit without any dupe, three similar originals sit in our catalogue. Basso by Sospiro (2022) opens on grapefruit with vetiver in the base. Perseus by Parfums de Marly (2024) pairs grapefruit with vetiver in the heart. Grey Vetiver by Tom Ford (2009) carries grapefruit on top and vetiver in the base. They are separate perfumes, so none of them replaces Terre d'Hermès. Our Hermès dupes roundup covers the house's other perfumes, and our guide to perfume dupes for men widens the search. For a lighter option on hot days, see best summer fragrances.
How to test a Terre d'Hermès dupe against the original
Spray each on skin, not paper. Terre d'Hermès moves from citrus through pepper and flint to a vetiver base, and you want to follow that change on your own skin. Wear the original on one day and the clone on another. Compare three moments: the first spray, the pepper-and-flint heart, and the evening, when the vetiver has settled.
Begin with a 3ml decant of Terre d'Hermès, so you know the target. The 3ml decant holds around 60 sprays, enough to wear it a few times. The 10ml decant holds around 200 sprays, which covers weeks of regular wear. At €1.80/ml per ml, the 10ml costs less per spray than the 3ml, and you can read more in dupe or original decant. For another fresh, spicy men's classic tested the same way, see our Dior Sauvage dupes guide.
Clone or original? What to know first
- Can I wear Terre d'Hermès in 3ml or 10ml before I choose a clone?
- Yes. A 3ml decant is €6.84 for about 60 sprays, enough to learn the perfume on your skin. A 10ml decant is €18.00 for about 200 sprays, enough to wear it for weeks. Knowing the original first tells you what a clone has to match.
- Which Terre d'Hermès dupe leads our ranking, and why?
- Rasasi Fattan pour Homme. Parfumo's comparison page shows 264 of 295 voting members finding it similar to Terre d'Hermès Eau de Toilette, and Fragrantica forum members call it very close but not exact. A Basenotes member who owns both still prefers the Hermès by a wide margin.
- How close does Rituals Oasis Verte get to Terre d'Hermès?
- One Fragrantica commenter finds it almost exactly the eau de toilette, with a spicier, greener twist. Another finds it nearer the Parfum and less earthy. On Parfumo, 75 of 100 voting members find it similar. It can be hard to find: we could not find it in a search of Rituals' German and Dutch shops.
- Is Eau Intense Vétiver the same as the Terre d'Hermès eau de toilette?
- No. It is a separate version from 2018 with bergamot, grapefruit and lemon on top, Sichuan pepper and geranium in the heart, and a base of olibanum, patchouli, amberwood and vetiver. We stock both, so you can try each in a decant before picking a clone.
- How do the clones compare per ml with a Terre d'Hermès decant?
- The comparison table on this page dates each clone price. For the original, a 10ml decant works out at €1.80/ml per ml, so you can test it without buying a full bottle first.
- Which perfumes like Terre d'Hermès share its grapefruit and vetiver?
- Sospiro Basso, Parfums de Marly Perseus and Tom Ford Grey Vetiver all list grapefruit and vetiver. They are separate perfumes, so expect extras such as oakmoss in Basso and Grey Vetiver, or bergamot and tonka bean in Perseus.
- How long does Terre d'Hermès last on skin?
- It depends on your skin and the weather, so we give no figure. Spray it on skin from a 3ml decant, wear it through a normal day, and judge it late in the day once it has settled before you set it against any Terre d'Hermès dupe.
- Does 10ML sell dupes?
- No. 10ML sells only original perfumes. We buy our bottles from authorized EU distributors and directly from the brands, and 10ML decants every perfume itself. The dupes in this guide are other houses’ perfumes, and we don’t sell them. You can wear the original first from €6.84.
