Toskovat' samples: try all four in 3ml decants before a full bottle
Toskovat' samples, read note by note: the four perfumes 10ML decants in 3ml and 10ml, what each smells like in plain words, and the order to try them.
In this guide
Toskovat' samples are the sensible way into this house, because its note lists read unlike most of what sits on a shelf and a full bottle is a big bet on a stranger. 10ML decants four of them, Inexcusable Evil, Born Screaming, Amaretto in the Melting Room and Pornstar (Noyau Doux), in 3ml and 10ml. The easiest one to start with is Amaretto in the Melting Room, a 3ml of which is €19.08. This guide reads each perfume in plain words, puts the four in a sampling order from the most wearable to the most challenging and sets out a plan for your first three vials.

What Toskovat' samples are, and why they suit this house
A sample here is a decant: perfume filled from the original bottle into a small atomiser, so you wear the real thing on your skin before you spend on a full bottle. The Toskovat' brand page lists the whole house. All four perfumes in this guide are listed as unisex, and the catalogue credits all four to the same perfumer, David-Lev Jipa-Slivinschi. They were launched in 2022, 2023 and 2025.
The note lists are the reason a sample matters more than usual. A list that includes bubble gum, latex or gunpowder tells you the perfume is playing with unusual ideas, and a list cannot tell you whether that works on you. Only your own skin does that. If you have not met decants before, our guide to what a perfume decant is covers the basics, and the perfume samples page shows how the sizes work.
Two sizes are on sale for these four: a 3ml decant, which gives around 60 sprays, and a 10ml decant, which gives around 200. The 3ml is the one to buy first. It gives you room to wear the perfume on different days, in different weather and moods, which is how you find out whether a strange note settles into something you like.

The four Toskovat' perfumes in plain words
A note list names impressions as well as ingredients. Notes such as latex, plastic, gunpowder or suntan lotion are best read as smell memories: a balloon, a new toy, a spent match, a beach towel. The list tells you what a perfume points to, not how it was made. The four are set out below in the order we would sample them.
Amaretto in the Melting Room by Toskovat'
Amaretto in the Melting Room is an Extrait de Parfum from 2025, and on paper it is the most food-like of the four. It opens on bread, peach, stone and orange peel: the warmth of a baked loaf, soft fruit, a dry mineral touch listed simply as stone, and a bright citrus edge. Amaretto, candle wax, sugar syrup and labdanum follow. The nutty-sweet liqueur sits beside the soft, waxy smell of an unlit candle, while labdanum, a sticky resin, brings a dark warmth.
Honeycomb, vanilla, tobacco and tonka close it, so the finish reads sweet, sticky and warm, with tobacco giving the sugar a drier edge. None of its notes is as unusual as the odd materials in the other three, which is why it is the easiest of the four to read on a first wear.
On longevity, the community vote leans "long lasting" (then "eternal"). The sillage vote leans "strong" (then "enormous"). Voters pick winter and fall for it most often, and evening and night. Reach for it if you like sweet perfumes with food notes and want a cold-weather scent with some oddness in it.
Pornstar (Noyau Doux) by Toskovat'
Launched in 2025, the same year as the first pick, and also an Extrait de Parfum, Pornstar (Noyau Doux) is the brightest of the four. Bubble gum, finger lime, ice and pitahaya come first: a sugary sweet, sharp little citrus pearls and a cold, juicy dragon fruit. Amaryllis, a martini note and pink flamingo heliconia, a tropical flower, give the sweetness a floral and boozy lift.
Underneath sit beeswax, lotus, meringue, persimmon, suntan lotion and vanilla. Suntan lotion is the note to understand: it points to the warm, creamy smell of sunscreen on skin, a holiday memory. With meringue and vanilla beside it, the list points to an airy, sweet finish. The catalogue lists its accords as fruity, tropical, sweet, floral, fresh and citrus, among others.
Longevity votes lean "long lasting" (then "eternal"). When voters rate how far it projects, sillage votes lean "strong" (then "enormous"). Summer and spring are the seasons voters choose most often, by day and in the evening, which makes it the only one of the four whose votes point to the day. This is the pick for warm weather and a playful mood.
Born Screaming by Toskovat'
Born Screaming dates from 2023, and the catalogue gives no concentration for it. This is where the house starts to get strange. Blackberry, cherry and ground cherry bring dark, slightly syrupy fruit to the opening, while latex and plastic stand for the smell of a new balloon or a toy fresh out of its packaging: shiny, slightly sharp and a little unnatural.
Its heart is mostly flowers, boronia, datura, heliotrope, mignonette and rose, running from sweet and powdery to heady, with a thread of smoke through them. The base gathers eight notes. Castoreum, an animal note, and styrax, a resin, add a leathery, slightly sweet-dirty depth, while myrrh and patchouli bring an earthy, balsamic dryness. Ambrette, cabreuva, freesia and pearls complete the list.
Votes on its longevity lean "long lasting", with "moderate" in second place. On sillage, the community vote leans "strong" (then "moderate") as well. Fall and winter are its most frequent season picks, with evening and night for time of day. If you already like dark, floral and smoky perfumes and want one with a deliberate twist, this is the one to test, and a 3ml shows you whether the plastic opening charms or irritates you.
Inexcusable Evil by Toskovat'
The oldest of the four, Inexcusable Evil is an Extrait de Parfum from 2022 and the hardest to describe. Gunpowder and ozonic notes open it: the dry, sulphurous smell of a struck match, with the clean, electric air before a storm. In the heart, iodine smells medical and sea-like, like a first-aid cabinet, and blood stands for a metallic, coin-on-the-tongue edge. A note listed simply as flowers sits among them, and three darker materials give weight: copaiba balm, a soft resin; cypriol oil or nagarmotha, an earthy, smoky root; and guaiac wood.
Concrete, rain notes, incense and sandalwood make up the base. Concrete stands for cold pavement and stone, rain notes make it damp, incense adds a thin, dry smoke and sandalwood a soft, woody floor. The catalogue lists its accords as mineral, smoky, ozonic, metallic and woody, among others, and the list does read like a storm over a city street.
Votes on how long it lasts lean "long lasting" (then "eternal"). Votes on how far it travels lean "strong" (then "enormous"). Winter and fall, evening and night, are where voters most often place it. It is meant for anyone who finds ordinary woody perfumes dull and wants one that smells of weather and stone. Wear it on skin before you decide, because the way a perfume sits varies from person to person.
A sampling order, from the most wearable to the most challenging
This order comes from reading the note lists, not from a score, and your nose may rearrange it.
- Amaretto in the Melting Room. Bread, peach, amaretto, honeycomb and vanilla are familiar tastes, so it is the easiest to place on skin.
- Pornstar (Noyau Doux). Sweet and fruity like the first, but with tropical and aquatic touches, and the only one most often picked for summer and spring.
- Born Screaming. Dark fruit and flowers make it approachable, but latex, plastic, smoke and castoreum make it an acquired taste.
- Inexcusable Evil. Gunpowder, iodine, blood and concrete have the least in common with a conventional perfume, so it comes last.
Start at the top of this list unless you already know you like dark or mineral scents, in which case start lower down. The order does not mean the later ones are worse, only that they ask more of the person wearing them.
Your first three vials
You do not need all four on day one. Three 3ml decants cover the range of the four, from the sweetest to the stranger side, and leave the fourth for later:
- Amaretto in the Melting Room as your anchor, at €19.08 for a 3ml. If you like it, you have your way into the house.
- Pornstar (Noyau Doux) for contrast, at €19.08. It tells you whether you prefer the sweet side of Toskovat' warm and nutty or bright and tropical.
- Born Screaming as the stretch, at €19.08. It gives you a real taste of the house's stranger side without going all the way to the hardest one.
If the stretch vial wins you over, Inexcusable Evil is the natural fourth, at €26.73 for a 3ml. If you already know you lean mineral and smoky, swap it in for the first vial. Wear one vial per day on a clean wrist, and give each a few wears before you move on, because a perfume that puzzles you on the first spray can read differently by the third wear.
What a 3ml decant lets you judge before a full bottle
A first impression on a card or a wrist tells you little about a perfume like these. A 3ml decant, with its roughly 60 sprays, gives you room to judge the things that matter before you commit to a bottle:
- The opening. Several of the strangest notes here, latex, gunpowder and bubble gum, sit at the top. Several wears show whether you enjoy them or only tolerate them.
- The dry-down. The sweet or smoky finish is what stays with you after the opening, so judge that, not the first minute.
- Weather and mood. The votes point to winter and fall for three of the four and to summer and spring for Pornstar (Noyau Doux). Wear each in the weather it suits and then in a different one.
- How far it travels. Community votes lean strong for the sillage of all four, so check how many sprays your skin and your workplace can take.
- Whether you reach for it. After a few wears, notice whether you reach for the vial without thinking. That is a good sign you want the bottle.
If the answer is yes, move up to a 10ml decant, which gives around 200 sprays, and wear it for weeks before a full bottle. For a broader look at easy styles to try before buying, see our guide to safe blind buy perfumes, and for the wider category, our page on niche perfumes.
Price per ml across the four
Every price below is the live 10ML price, taken from the same catalogue data as the product pages. The price per ml falls as the size rises, so the 10ml decant is the lower-cost way to wear a perfume you already know you like.
| Perfume | 3ml decant | 3ml per ml | 10ml decant | 10ml per ml |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Amaretto in the Melting Room | €19.08 | €6.36/ml | €57.60 | €5.76/ml |
| Pornstar (Noyau Doux) | €19.08 | €6.36/ml | €57.60 | €5.76/ml |
| Born Screaming | €19.08 | €6.36/ml | €57.60 | €5.76/ml |
| Inexcusable Evil | €26.73 | €8.91/ml | €80.91 | €8.09/ml |
Read this as the cost of finding out. The 3ml is the lowest price for trying a perfume, and the 10ml is the lower price per ml once you know. Our guides on perfume sample prices and niche perfume price per ml show how these figures sit against the wider market.
