Niche perfume price per ml in 2026: how much more niche costs than designer, measured
How much more niche perfume costs per ml than designer, measured across every perfume 10ML stocks, checked on official house bottles, with the 2026 luxury niche perfume market size.
In this guide
The niche perfume price per ml in 2026 is a median €3.73/ml1 for a 10ml decant, against €2.41/ml1 for designer, so niche costs 55%1 more (the 10ML Price-per-ml Index, 10ML member price, VAT included, across the perfumes 10ML stocks). Econ Market Research values luxury niche perfume at US$4.85B2 in 2026.

This page measures that premium instead of assuming it. It reads the index at all three decant sizes, checks the same gap on official full bottles from the houses' own EU stores on 8 October 2026, and labels every market figure exactly as its publisher does. For what the two words mean, read what separates niche from designer perfume.

How big the niche premium is per ml
Across the perfumes 10ML stocks, a niche house's 10ml decant costs a median €3.73/ml1 per ml against €2.41/ml1 for a designer house. That makes niche 55%1 more expensive per ml, at the 10ML member price, VAT included.
The comparison runs on 5991 niche perfumes and 4611 designer perfumes in the 10ML Price-per-ml Index. Together they make 1,0601 perfumes, each priced at every decant size it sells.
The split follows a fixed house flag in the 10ML catalogue. Houses whose main business is perfume count as niche. Fashion and beauty houses count as designer.
A median is the middle perfume of the list once every price is sorted. A handful of very high or very low prices barely moves it, which is why 10ML reports medians and not averages.
Single perfumes show what the gap looks like in practice. Le Labo's Santal 33 costs €5.11/ml in a 10ml decant. Byredo's Gypsy Water costs €4.58/ml at the same size.
On the designer side, Dior's Sauvage costs €2.34/ml in a 10ml decant. Carolina Herrera's Good Girl costs €2.57/ml. These are live 10ML member prices, VAT included, and any one perfume can sit well above or below its tier's median.
The premium is a fact about price, not about what is in the bottle. For where the money in a bottle goes, read where the money in a bottle of perfume goes, per ml.
Whether niche is worth the extra is a question the data cannot settle for you. A 3ml decant holds around 60 sprays, about three weeks at three sprays a day, before you decide.
The index also cannot say what niche costs across the wider market. It covers only the perfumes 10ML stocks, a curated list that over-represents niche.
Does the gap narrow in bigger sizes?
It narrows a little. In the 10ML Price-per-ml Index the niche premium is 58%1 for 3ml decants, 55%1 for 10ml decants and 48%1 for 30ml decants.
At 3ml the niche median is €4.41/ml1 and the designer median is €2.79/ml1, at the 10ML member price, VAT included, across the perfumes 10ML stocks.
At 30ml the niche median is €3.06/ml1 and the designer median is €2.07/ml1, on the same basis.
| Size | Designer | Niche |
|---|---|---|
| 3ml | €2.79/ml | €4.41/ml |
| 10ml | €2.41/ml | €3.73/ml |
| 30ml | €2.07/ml | €3.06/ml |
Source: 1. 10ML Price-per-ml Index
Both tiers cost less per ml as the decant grows. A narrowing premium means that, in proportion, the niche median falls a little further than the designer median between 3ml and 30ml.
One niche perfume shows the step. Parfums de Marly's Delina costs €4.95/ml at 3ml and €3.51/ml at 30ml.
Initio's Side Effect moves from €3.87/ml at 3ml to €2.85/ml at 30ml. Both are live 10ML member prices, VAT included.
Houses sell their own small formats too, from travel sprays to discovery sets. For those, read the price per ml of samples, travel sprays and discovery sets.
The premium by country is a question this index cannot answer. 10ML charges one euro price in every EU country it delivers to, so a country split would need a separate check of house stores country by country.

| Angels' Share | Kilian Paris | Niche | Eau de Parfum | 100ml | €3.70/ml |
| Delina | Parfums de Marly | Niche | Eau de Parfum | 75ml | €3.80/ml |
The dearest designer bottles in the table were Dior's J'adore and Miss Dior at 100ml. Every niche bottle in the table sits above them, except Diptyque's two eaux de toilette.
Those two Diptyque bottles sit just under Carolina Herrera's Good Girl at 100ml. They are the only niche rows inside the designer range.
At the dear end of the table, Parfums de Marly's Delina at 75ml costs nearly four times as much per ml as Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male at 125ml, the lowest price per ml in the table.
Concentration differs too. The designer rows carry more eaux de toilette and colognes, while the niche rows are almost all eau de parfum or extrait.
Bottle size plays a part as well. A 75ml or 90ml bottle usually costs more per ml than a larger bottle of the same perfume would, so Delina and the Initio rows are not measured at exactly the same size as the rest.
Jo Malone London sits on the designer side because the 10ML catalogue files it that way. These prices are dated list prices with VAT and will not update; the 10ML prices elsewhere on this page are live.

The order is live. It moves when a house adds perfumes or a price changes, so this page names no fixed top or bottom house; read the current order from the chart.
Houses with fewer than 10 perfumes stay in the index but are left out of the chart. A median of a few prices says little about a house.
Two perfumes show the spread at 30ml. Kilian's Angels' Share costs €4.29/ml, and Dior's Sauvage costs €2.08/ml, both 10ML member prices, VAT included.

How big the luxury niche perfume market is
Econ Market Research puts the global luxury niche perfume market at US$4.85B2 in 2026. It expects growth of about 13.2%2 a year, to US$14.79B2 by 2035.
Econ's 2026 figure is built from a 2025 base year, according to Econ Market Research.
Econ labels its subject luxury niche perfume, worldwide, as Econ defines it. This page keeps that label and does not stretch it to all niche scent or to all perfume.
The growth rate for 2026–2035 is Econ's forecast, not a measured result.
This page quotes only worldwide figures. It has no source for a by-country split of luxury niche perfume; that would need a publisher that reports the segment country by country.
How the market has changed over the last decade is also beyond these sources. The estimates quoted here start in 2025, so they cannot show ten years of change. What the data does show is a change of owners, covered below.
Why the market estimates disagree
Publishers define niche differently and start from different years. Intel Market Research gives US$4.1B3 for 2025, and Statista projects US$56.65B4 for perfume and eau de toilette worldwide in 2026.
| Publisher | What it measures | Value | Year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Econ Market Research | Luxury niche perfume, worldwide | US$4.85B2 | 2026 |
| Econ Market Research | Luxury niche perfume, worldwide, forecast | US$14.79B2 | 2035 |
| Intel Market Research | Luxury niche perfume, worldwide | US$4.1B3 | 2025 |
| Intel Market Research | Luxury niche perfume, worldwide, forecast | US$9.2B3 | 2034 |
| Statista | Fragrances (perfume and eau de toilette, retail), worldwide | US$56.65B4 | 2026 |
Intel Market Research expects luxury niche perfume to reach US$9.2B3 by 2034. That is growth of 9.3%3 a year over 2025–2034, according to Intel.
Intel's page says its forecast was revised upward. An older Intel series still quoted elsewhere is out of date, and 10ML does not use it.
Statista's figure has a different scope again. It covers perfume and eau de toilette, B2C retail sales online and offline, worldwide, and excludes room scents and deodorants.
Statista expects that market to grow 4.28%4 a year over 2026–2031.
The niche estimates and Statista's figure come from different publishers with different definitions. 10ML never adds them together and never derives a niche share from the two.
10ML quotes Econ for 2026 because it states a 2026 figure from a 2025 base year, while Intel's series starts in 2025 and was revised upward; Intel is shown beside it so you can see the range.
Who owns the niche houses
Many niche names now belong to large groups. L'Oréal's deal for Kering Beauté, which brought Creed into the group, closed on 31 March 20265. The Estée Lauder Companies owns Le Labo, Kilian, Frédéric Malle and Jo Malone London.
Its fragrance net sales reached US$2.78B6 in the fiscal year to 30 June 2026, according to the Estée Lauder Companies' fiscal 2026 results.
That was growth of +12%6 on the year before. The company named Le Labo and Kilian among the drivers of that growth.
In the 10ML catalogue, that group's houses include Le Labo's Santal 33 and Kilian's Angels' Share.
Puig owns Byredo, the house behind Gypsy Water, and Penhaligon's. LVMH also holds a majority stake in a Paris niche house.
Advent International holds majority stakes in Parfums de Marly, the house behind Delina, and in Initio Parfums Privés, the house behind Side Effect.
Manzanita Capital owns Diptyque. Xerjoff, Mancera, Montale and Memo Paris are independent as far as the sources show.
Ownership alone does not set a price per ml. The index cannot separate the effect of an owner from a house's own pricing, so this page states who owns what and leaves the price to the data above.
For the full map of groups, licences and independent houses, read who owns which perfume house in 2026.
How 10ML measured the niche premium
The index reads every 10ML price hourly and splits houses by a fixed niche flag. The full-bottle check read official store prices on one day, 8 October 2026.
What was measured: every perfume and decant size 10ML sells at 3ml, 10ml and 30ml, each at the 10ML member price, VAT included, divided by its size. Medians are taken per size and per tier, across the perfumes 10ML stocks.
The list is curated. It is weighted to well-known and recent launches, with niche over-represented, so it is not a sample of the market.
Niche or designer follows the catalogue's niche collection, a fixed flag per house. Jo Malone London is filed as designer.
Where: 10ML charges one euro price in every EU country it delivers to, so the index has no country split.
For the full-bottle check, prices came from each house's own online store, in France where the house runs one and on EU-wide euro stores for Byredo and Xerjoff. Each price was read from the product page itself, with the perfume name, concentration and ml confirmed on that page. Price per ml is the price divided by the ml.
What was left out: member discounts, promo codes and free gifts given with an order. The houses not covered include Yves Saint Laurent, Lancôme, Giorgio Armani, Mugler, Prada, Valentino, Guerlain, Hermès, Givenchy, Creed, Louis Vuitton and Chanel. Most of those stores blocked the request or had no confirmed euro product page in the collection window.
Market figures were read from each publisher's page on 8 October 2026 and carry the publisher's own label. No 10ML order or sales data is used anywhere on this page.

- Does the niche premium shrink in larger sizes?
- Yes, a little. In the 10ML Price-per-ml Index the niche premium is 58% for 3ml decants, 55% for 10ml decants and 48% for 30ml decants. Both tiers cost less per ml as the decant grows. Figures are 10ML member prices, VAT included, across the perfumes 10ML stocks.
- Which perfume houses cost the most per ml?
- The 10ML Price-per-ml Index ranks every house with at least 10 perfumes by its median price per ml at 30ml (10ML member price, VAT included); there are 46 such houses, and the order is live. - How big is the luxury niche perfume market in 2026?
- Econ Market Research puts the global luxury niche perfume market at US$4.85B in 2026, on its own definition and from a 2025 base year. Intel Market Research gives US$4.1B for 2025. 10ML quotes Econ because it states a 2026 figure; both are estimates of luxury niche perfume, not of all perfume.
- How fast is the luxury niche perfume market growing?
- Econ Market Research expects the global luxury niche perfume market to grow 13.2% a year from 2026 to 2035, reaching US$14.79B. Intel Market Research expects 9.3% a year from 2025 to 2034. Statista expects perfume and eau de toilette overall to grow 4.28% a year over 2026–2031.
- Why do market reports disagree on the size of the niche market?
- They define luxury niche perfume differently and start from different years. Econ Market Research gives US$4.85B for 2026 from a 2025 base year; Intel Market Research gives US$4.1B for 2025 and says it revised its forecast upward. Read the two side by side; never average them.
- Who owns the big niche perfume houses?
- Large groups own many of them. The Estée Lauder Companies owns Le Labo, Kilian, Frédéric Malle and Jo Malone London; Puig owns Byredo and Penhaligon's; L'Oréal's deal that brought in Creed closed on 31 March 2026. Advent International holds majority stakes in Parfums de Marly and Initio Parfums Privés, and Manzanita Capital owns Diptyque.
- Where do these numbers come from?
- The per-ml medians come from the 10ML Price-per-ml Index, which reads every 10ML member price, VAT included, hourly across the perfumes 10ML stocks. Official bottle prices come from the houses' own EU stores, checked on 8 October 2026. Market sizes come from Econ Market Research, Intel Market Research and Statista, each named beside its figure.
