Le Gemme Tygar Dupes 2026: 7 Clones vs the Original
Seven Le Gemme Tygar dupes compared on listed notes and on what owners say, with the original to wear first in a 3ml or 10ml decant.
In this guide
We sell only the originals. Every perfume we sell is the authentic original, decanted from the perfume house’s own bottle. We buy our bottles from authorized EU distributors and directly from the brands, and 10ML decants every perfume itself. We never sell dupes, clones or inspired-by perfumes. This guide compares the dupes other houses make of Le Gemme Tygar, so you can choose, or wear the original first.

What does Le Gemme Tygar smell like?
Le Gemme Tygar by Bvlgari is a grapefruit perfume with an ambergris accord. Bvlgari's own page names only those two accords. Fragrantica gives the fuller list: grapefruit, ginger, ambrette, ambroxan, musk, vetiver and patchouli. That reads as bright grapefruit and ginger over a musk and ambroxan base. If ambergris and ambroxan blur together for you, our guide to ambergris versus ambroxan separates them.
There are two versions on 10ML. Le Gemme Tygar Extrait keeps the same two accords and adds Siam benzoin and Peru balsam absolutes, according to Bvlgari. Alexandria Fragrances also makes a Black Panther Extrait, made after Tygar Extrait.
| Version | What Bvlgari lists | Nearest pick |
|---|---|---|
| Le Gemme Tygar | A grapefruit accord and an ambergris accord | Turathi Blue, Black Panther |
| Le Gemme Tygar Extrait | The same two accords, plus Siam benzoin and Peru balsam | Aaron Levine, through its Peru balsam |

Best overall: Turathi Blue
Turathi Blue by Afnan leads on the size of the vote, not on matching notes. Parfumo's comparison page shows 586 of 646 voting members finding it similar to Tygar, though it counts no shared note between them. Afnan lists mandarin, bergamot, amber, woods, musk, spices and patchouli, with no grapefruit at all.
The main difference is the citrus and the dry-down. On Fragrantica, one user finds it comes very close to Tygar once settled, but with a harsher, rind-like citrus opening. Another, who owns both, finds its patchouli dry-down earthier and less airy than Tygar's ambroxan and ambrette. A Basenotes member who owns both rates Turathi Blue among the best of its kind, and finds it a little more fruity while Tygar stays more nuanced.
Choose it if you want the broadest backing and can live with a harsher opening and an earthier finish. Sources: Parfumo comparison, Fragrantica and a Basenotes thread.

Closest on the dry-down: Black Panther
Black Panther by Alexandria Fragrances shares three listed notes with Tygar. Alexandria presents it as inspired by Bvlgari Tygar, built on grapefruit, ambroxan, musk and woods, on its own product page.
Its strength is the finish. Fragrantica users who own both find the dry-down very similar to Tygar's, and one finds the two much closer as the perfume settles. The difference is the start: they find Tygar's grapefruit opening smoother and more natural. On Basenotes, one member who owns Black Panther and has smelled Tygar says the two are very close. Another finds its grapefruit closer to a lemon cleaner and the ginger sparkle missing, in a Basenotes thread.
Choose it if the late hours of the day matter more to you than the first spray. Read the Fragrantica comments before you buy.

Lowest price: Aaron Levine
Aaron Levine is the honest budget pick, not a clone. A Fragrantica user finds it aiming at Tygar's profile, with a similar grapefruit-over-smooth-woods opening. The same user finds it turns damp and musty after the opening. Other users describe a warm, balsamic, sandalwood dry-down.
Zara lists grapefruit, orange blossom and an incense accord over sandalwood, Peru balsam and ambrox. Peru balsam also appears in Bvlgari's description of Tygar Extrait, which is the one link we can document. Choose it if the lowest price matters most and you accept the risk of the musty turn. Fresher take: Kajal III
Kajal III leans brighter than Tygar. On Fragrantica, one user finds it more sparkling and refreshing than Tygar, and another finds its opening juicier, with the citrus pushed further. Kajal lists grapefruit, lemon zest and lemon soda over ginger, rosemary, neroli and lavender, so it shares grapefruit and ginger with Tygar's list.
A Basenotes member calls it the overlooked one in this style: stronger and sharper than Tygar, with an added orange and lemonade feel. One Tygar owner dissents on Fragrantica, finding its ambroxan sharper and closer to Théorème Homme than to Tygar.
Choose it if Tygar feels too restrained for you and you want more citrus. Sources: Fragrantica and Basenotes.

Sweeter take: Al Qiam Silver
Al Qiam Silver by Lattafa Pride is the sweeter reading. A Fragrantica user finds it really close to Tygar, maybe slightly sweeter and less versatile. Another, who has smelled Tygar, calls it the closest to the original they know, though several mention short wear.
Parfumo's comparison page shows 111 of 129 voting members finding it similar to Tygar. It also classifies Al Qiam Silver as sweet and aquatic, where Tygar is spicy and synthetic. Choose it if you like Tygar's shape with more sweetness and can accept that wear may be short. Sources: Fragrantica and the Parfumo comparison.

Darker take: Aqua de Dora
Aqua de Dora by Pana Dora is the warmer, darker option. A Fragrantica forum member who owns Tygar and Aqua de Dora calls it the warmest of the three perfumes compared, with a touch of fig and chestnut, and Tygar the most purely grapefruit.
A Parfumo member finds it very similar to Tygar, sharing a grapefruit and ambroxan core, with more lemon in the opening and more complexity from chestnut, fig and cashmeran, and very similar on the dry-down. A Basenotes member who owns both finds less ginger and a fig and cashmeran accord that makes it slightly more mature.
Choose it if you want Tygar's core with more depth and a little more age. Sources: the forum thread, a Parfumo write-up and Basenotes.

Premium alternative: Mahina
Mahina by Parfums d'Elmar is the odd one out. Parfumo's comparison page shows 140 of 155 voting members finding it similar to Tygar, though no listed note is shared. Parfumo classifies Mahina as fruity, sweet and floral.
That is the whole basis, so treat it as a vote rather than a note match. At the list prices in the table above, Mahina costs more per ml than Tygar itself. Choose it only if you want a fruitier, sweeter, floral reading of the same idea. Source: Parfumo comparison.

What every clone gets wrong
Across the comments gathered here, the gap is mostly the opening and the finish. Fragrantica owners find Tygar's grapefruit smoother and more natural than Black Panther's, and one Basenotes member finds Tygar more nuanced than Turathi Blue. One Fragrantica owner also finds Tygar's ambroxan and ambrette airier than the earthier patchouli finish of Turathi Blue.
One Basenotes member misses the ginger sparkle in Black Panther, and one Fragrantica user finds Aaron Levine turns damp and musty within minutes. The honest summary: every pick here comes with a difference that an owner, a user or Parfumo's classification names.
Four perfumes that share Tygar's notes
If you want a grapefruit-and-ginger perfume you can buy in a decant, four others list notes in common with Tygar. Vibrato by Sospiro lists grapefruit and ginger, with musk and patchouli in the base. L'Immensité by Louis Vuitton lists grapefruit, ginger and ambroxan. Ingenious Ginger by Goldfield & Banks lists ginger, musk and patchouli. The Hedonist Extrait by Ex Nihilo lists grapefruit, ginger, patchouli and vetiver.
Each one is its own perfume, with its own character. If citrus over ambroxan is what you like, our guides to Louis Vuitton Imagination dupes and Dior Sauvage dupes follow the same thread.
How to test a Tygar clone against the original
Choosing a Bvlgari Tygar dupe is a skin question, not a paper one. A strip shows you the grapefruit, but the dry-down only appears on your skin, and that is where owners say the clones differ. Wear Tygar on one day and the clone on another, so each has the whole day to settle. Then compare three things: how smooth the grapefruit feels, whether the ginger shows, and how the ambroxan sits late in the day.
Start with the original. A 3ml decant gives about 60 sprays, enough to learn Tygar before you commit. A 10ml decant gives about 200 sprays and suits weeks of wear, and 30ml gives about 600 to keep. Our guide to how to make perfume last longer helps you read the result fairly. At €3.74/ml per ml for the 10ml decant, you can try Tygar for a fraction of what a full bottle costs.
If Tygar Extrait appeals, try it too, and read what a perfume decant is first if the format is new to you.
Clone or original? What to know first
- Can I wear Le Gemme Tygar in 3ml or 10ml before choosing a clone?
- Yes. Le Gemme Tygar comes as a 3ml decant for €12.42 and a 10ml decant for €37.44, with a 30ml option to keep. A 3ml decant gives about 60 sprays and a 10ml decant about 200, so you can wear it on several different days before you decide.
- Which Tygar clone leads our ranking, and why?
- Turathi Blue by Afnan leads, because 586 of 646 voting Parfumo members find it similar to Tygar and owners on Fragrantica and Basenotes back it. It comes with a dissent: one user finds its citrus opening harsher, and another finds its patchouli dry-down earthier. Afnan lists no grapefruit at all.
- How close does Black Panther get to Le Gemme Tygar?
- Alexandria Fragrances lists grapefruit, ambroxan, musk and woods for Black Panther, which share three notes with Tygar's list. Owners on Fragrantica find the dry-down very similar, while they find Tygar's grapefruit opening smoother and more natural. One Basenotes member finds its grapefruit closer to a lemon cleaner.
- Does the Extrait change which Tygar dupe I should pick?
- Possibly. Bvlgari describes Tygar Extrait as the same two accords plus Siam benzoin and Peru balsam. Aaron Levine lists Peru balsam too, which is the one documented link. Try the Extrait in a 3ml decant for €16.20 before you decide.
- How do the clones compare per ml with a Tygar decant?
- A 10ml decant of Tygar works out at €3.74/ml per ml. Mahina costs more per ml than Tygar itself at the houses' list prices, while Aaron Levine has the lowest price in the table. Four clone houses list no EU price, so the table says so instead of converting.
- Which Tygar dupes share the notes the original lists?
- Black Panther shares grapefruit, ambroxan and musk with Tygar. Aqua de Dora shares a grapefruit and ambroxan core, according to a Parfumo member, and Kajal III lists grapefruit and ginger. Turathi Blue and Mahina share no listed note with Tygar, so they rest on Parfumo votes and on what owners say.
- How long will Le Gemme Tygar last on my skin?
- It depends on your skin and the weather, so we give no figure. The way to find out is to wear a 3ml decant through a full day and see how the ambroxan dry-down holds on you.
- What is a Tygar Duftzwilling, and which one comes closest?
- Duftzwilling is the German word for a dupe. For Tygar, owners on Fragrantica find Black Panther closest on the dry-down, though they find Tygar's grapefruit opening smoother. Turathi Blue has the widest Parfumo vote.
- Does 10ML sell dupes?
- No. 10ML sells only original perfumes. We buy our bottles from authorized EU distributors and directly from the brands, and 10ML decants every perfume itself. The dupes in this guide are other houses’ perfumes, and we don’t sell them. You can wear the original first from €12.42.
